Stop being needy. Just help these people. These words echoed in his head. They were right—his sister was just somewhere in Teyvat. These people's problems were urgent, right? At times, the kind traveller felt like he was being used, but he brushed it off.

After the fifth time playing pirates and, consequently, tidying the ship, Aether left Liyue Harbor, heading towards a troublesome Ruin Hunter. However, his steps became wobbly, and as he approached the Bounty Area, his vision blurred and blackened, causing his body to hit the dirt.

When he woke up, the first thing he tried to do was stand, but a flick to his head sent him back. As his vision cleared, he recognized Xiao, the dark-haired male on his left, whose two fingers were posed perfectly to flick Aether's forehead if he tried to stand again.

"Xiao, what happened? Has the Ruin Hunter been dealt with?"

"You collapsed, so I brought you to the Inn. The Ruin Hunter has been removed. As for you, Aether, you are to rest. A doctor will examine you tomorrow," Xiao said, replacing his hand at his side and crossing the room.

"But I-" Aether swung his legs to his right, off the bed.

"No buts. Or do I need to tie you to the bed myself?"

Aether blushed as he took in the other's words. Sinking back into the mattress, Aether realized Paimon was missing.

"I will go fetch your... floating companion. Stay here and rest," Xiao responded, disappearing in a cloud of Anemo.

(Idk what it is, k. I tried googling it. Not even the lore knows.)

When Xiao returned with Paimon, Aether was already asleep. Paimon rushed to Aether, well, tried to at least, but didn't get very far because her cape was pressed between Xiao's thumb and forefinger.

"Shh, he's sleeping," Xiao whispered.

"Paimon can see, but why does she have to be quiet? If he wakes up, he can just go back to sleep again, can't he?" Paimon asked with a puzzled look.

"It's important he rests right now. Follow me, unless you can keep quiet," Xiao replied, releasing the pixie's cape.

"Paimon won't make a peep," Paimon whispered, floating to bed and hovering on Aether's left.

"Keep an eye on him. The doctor's on their way."

Paimon nodded, her starry eyes held a look of worry as they focused on the traveller.

Aether slowly opened his gold eyes, immediately spotting Paimon fidgeting worriedly.

"Paimon?"

A small shriek erupted from the anxious fairy. "Traveller, you're awake! Wait, the doctor said for you to get loads of rest!" Paimon pulled the covers over Aether's head.

"Paimon, wait!" Aether pulled the sheet down.

"Shh, shh, go to sleep," Paimon hushed, patting his head.

"Paimon, stop! Ahh!" Aether covered his head with his arms. A figure with a dark aura appeared, holding his Jade-Winged spear and approached the two.

"Paimon, that's enough," Xiao said in a deep voice. Paimon stopped and crossed her arms.

"Smiley Yanxiao has some new recipes he wants you to taste, Paimon."

Little stars grew in Paimon's eyes at the thought of free food. Paimon left, happily humming to herself.

"Unbelievable," Aether muttered to himself, rolling his eyes internally.

"Come with me." Xiao extended his hand to the blonde.
