August 9, 1950 | 9:12 am | cold and dry.
Sergeant Crow Top was walking around the Ponrea Operations Base, operating for the Equestrian Intelligence Agency, that day there was nothing out of the ordinary, wounded being helped, troops mobilizing, supplies being received and Ponreans cleaning their weapons, typical of a battlefield, nothing very different from the Japonian Campaign, in which he participated during the Second World War, then, he was approached by a Soldier:
"Sergeant Crow Top, Major Tool wants to see you!" the Soldier said.
"What there was?" Crow asked.
"He called you and 3 other agents for a briefing." the Soldier replied.
"I am on my way!" Crow exclaimed, heading straight to the presentation tent.
On the way, Crow could see many injured people, some with severed body parts, of that troop, only 3 were intact, all of them Phoenix, the elite of the Army and Air Force paratroopers, some still had a look of terror, as if they had gone to hell and back after 5 minutes, Crow hadn't seen a look like that since he was in Japonia, he swallowed hard and finally arrived at the tent:
"Great, they're all here!" Major Tool Rogue said, looking at Crow.
"First Sergeant Crow Top introducing himself, sir!" Crow replied, saluting Tool.
"What will be our mission, sir?" Sergeant Lift Shot asked.
"A Phoenix platoon just got back here at the base, after a reconnaissance mission, not even they could describe what the fuck happened there, but according to one of them, everything was quiet until what happened, I want you all investigating the same place today, it's extremely important that you know exactly what's there, any questions?" Tool explained.
"How should we get there?" Sergeant Flank Storm asked.
"You must go there by truck, take at least two of your squads there, you will be under the command of Warrant Office Road Flag, take at least two cameras, and record as much as possible." the Major replied.
August 9, 1950 | 5:25 pm | frosty.
Road Flag was leading the troops, Road was originally a Phantom, he always performed missions with his sleeves rolled up, this one would be no different, all the operators present were in the standard army combat uniform, each Sergeant had two squads, each squad , with one assault operator, one medic, two light gunners and one marksman, all the Sergeants there were assault operators, there was a force of 28 operators there, in addition to one squad protecting the trucks, Road was of the scout class, I was able to get into hard-to-reach places.
The place had a dense and dense forest, difficult mobility, they were all spread out, they had been walking in the forest for over an hour, until they finally arrived at the designated place, it was still possible to smell the smell of meat in the air, flies were landing On the bodies and severed limbs of the operators who were once there, there was also a crater on the ground, but it was not from a grenade:
"That looks like 120 mm..." said a Soldier, astonished by what he had just seen.
"Take a photo of this and the bodies, don't forget to get the dogtags too." the Warrant Officer ordered, looking around.
The orders were followed, as soon as they were given, after they were fulfilled, everyone moved forward, investigating the area, the sun was setting, and they continued forward looking for any clue as to what had attacked the Phoenix platoon, the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning. On the 5th, those who returned were lucky, luck that many did not have, Ponrea was something new for the Equestrians, who acted much more than the Southern Ponreans themselves, even with experience in Japonia, Ponrea was completely different, it was narrower.
