"Hayloooooo roomie!"
I let out a mini shriek and clutched my towel tighter to my chest as I stared at the hurricane in human form that had bulldozed into my dorm room on a Sunday morning at 8am.
Experience? 3/10.
The dark lady fluffed up her afro before sending me a wide grin. "I'm Moana. Yes like from the movie."
I shook my head slowly, trying to comprehend what was happening and also trying not to be sick to my stomach at the fact I was clad in nothing but my two sizes too small towel. It literally showed everything except the parts even A list celebrities covered as well.
Most of them anyway.
"My name is Ellie and Moana is my second favorite princess," I mumbled.
Moana's grin impossibly widened as she put both hands on her waist. We both stood in the tiny hallway of our dorm room and from the boxes and bags I could see behind her, I knew this was the real deal.
My roommate had moved in.
Into the room and into my life.
The last time I had lived with a female was before my parents died. Noah's mum was alive but she travelled all over the country for meetings and what not. It was mainly his dad, Noah and I.
I wasn't sure how to act with another female.
"Your face is as red as your hair Ellie. I guess I should have knocked before I came in but all the stuff I was carrying were literally about to tear my fingers off my palm."
I threw back my head and laughed. "It's fine Moana. Wow I really love your name."
Moana chuckled and turned away. "Why not your favorite disney princess though? You hurt me right in the left artery."
"Mulan did it better."
"Mulan isn't even a princess!"
"She is to me!"
We glared at each other for a moment and burst out laughing. I could barely believe the ludicrousness of the situation but that wasn't the main reason I was laughing.
I was so so happy my roommate wasn't a bitch.
Girls could be mean.
So mean.
Especially ones with model worthy bodies and beautiful faces like Moana. Forget her name, her looks definitely reminded one of a princess. I could feel all my insecurities trying to bubble to the surface but her constant kind smile kept them at bay. Her warm brown eyes genuinely seemed to want to make this roommate thing work.
Thank the gods.
"I'm gonna go get dressed. Nice meeting you Moana."
Moana straightened up balancing three boxes on her head and four in her arms.
"That's fine. Want to go get some lunch later? I will be done unpacking by then."
I felt myself grin.
"That sounds great."
Scratch the earlier report. Experience? 10 outta 10.
