Chapter 9: Back in Business

The Nishizumi Family was sitting at the dining table, discussing the things happened lately

"Going out is become impossible!  There's always full of Kempeitai officiers everywhere asking for your documents!"
Miho says, clearly not pleased with this new situation

"I know, i know....but that are the new rules, with the new government everything changed for everyone, even for the basic workers" says her father Tsuneo, mechanics are the only category of workers that aren't touched by the new regulations.

"Your father is right Miho, we all have to adapt to this new government; that's our new reality now and we can't do anything to change it if we don't like it"  Says Shiho

After that they make dinner, for the first time in years the entire Nishizumi Family is united at a table because of the costant work travelling of Tsuneo, he is a high-level mechanic, so his works are wanted all around the world.

Then after dinner, everyone respectevly goes into their own room, and Miho starts texting with Saori

"How ya doin'?"

"The same....being restricted into home"

"The Kempeitai is trully strict....how they could't let someone going out at night?  What if someone wants to have a funny evening?"

"I know....but how about the others, did  you heard them recently?"

"Oh, yes!   All of them share our opinion, apart from Mako; she likes this new nightly lockdown"

"Hehe...how typical, i bet she's sleeping as much as she can!"

"I've lost my hopes with her, ahahah....but....there's also something else"

"Hm? What?"

"I think i've saw Michael returning, it's been over a month since the last time we saw him around"

"You serious? Seriously did you saw him?"

"Yes, i did!   He was taking a walk around my neighborhood, but before i could greet him, he went away :("

"Apparently he didn't saw you in time, don't worry Saori"

That was the last message Miho sent before falling asleep, with her phone falling over her face in a funny manner.

The next morning Michael was doing his usual morning jog around the city with his headphones listening to his favourite songs

"Überraschen, überfallen, Deutschland Deutschland Über Allen"

When he was passing by the grocieries store he met Miho, she was kinda surprised seeing him after such a long time, even of it was just a couple of months

"Oh, hi Michael!  How long..."

"Hi Miho, sorry for disappearing for so long, i had...."coff coff" complications at home"

"Oh, i understand, don't worry" she smiles, unaware of what really he has done in all the time he was missing.

"Did i interrupted your jog?"  She asks

"Oh no, not at all, i only have to do a few hundred meters and I'm done for today"

"Good to know, i went here just to buy some bread, hehe....y'know..."

In the meantime Maho comes where the two were talking

"Why are you taking it so long?" She asks

"Onee-Chan, you're also here..."

"Yes, mom sent me because you are taking too long for just buying some bread"

"Oh sorry, i just met one of my friends here after a long time and i wanted to say hi at least for 5 minutes...."   Miho was a bit embarassed

Maho points towards Michael and Miho nods, making sign he was that friend she was talking about, then she extends her arm in a handshake.

"I'm Maho Nishizumi, her older sister, nice to meet you"

Michael takes her hand and introduce himself as well

"Nice to meet you Maho, i'm Michael"

"Oh....that doesn't sound like a autoctone name, where are you from?"

"Germany"

"Oh Germany? I was there some time ago, can i ask precisely where are you from?"

"Berlin"

"So that's Maho Nishizumi...huh.....from a first view she's respecting the studies, and let me add....she's cute" he thinks.

"You don't look like a German apart from the height, i mean.....i've never seen a german with red hair, hehe"

"She guessed my true hair colour without any word being said by me....impressive"

"That's genes stuff, not every german is blonde with blue eyes"

"Yeah, that's true...anyway, i have to go"

Then she turns back to Miho, whispering at her ear   "don't take it too long, mom is waiting"  Miho nods, waving her sister goodbye with Michael

"Sorry, but i have to go as well, my family is waiting for me. That was nice, see you!"  She turns back and starts walking to her house, leaving him alone.

Once he got back home, Michael starts writing down his daily report to his HQ, letting them know what he discovered about Maho for now and other ordinary things about the local situation in Japan

"I have a lot of work to do if i want to be close to her as much as the mission wants me to be, if the reports are true it is highly unlikely that she will let me staying that close, she might start suspecting things and I don't want to be exposed as a spy" he says

Then he begins planning on how getting close to Maho without making her suspect anything and trying to convice her to join him in the Ordensstaat, and that is the hard part: how can he convince a girl to join a country that a very few people barely know where it is?

For days and days he struggled to get even the shadow of an idea, but then thanks to Miho he gets one in mind; Maho was searching someone for a "European History Work" so he would be asking for a place, the Perfect Plan for him.

"Ha ha....i knew it, i knew i was able to fimd a plan! And now all i have to do is simply asking Maho for a place in her work-group, and she can't deny my offer: who is better at european history if not a true european, wait...even better, a german?  No one, that's who!
And now i'm officially back in business, ready to succeed..."
