•CHAPTER 2•
Saturday
Selena's POVI woke up to the sound of Shiloh screaming and crying. I immediately ran to her room and she was sitting there with snot running down her face.
My baby looked so sick and tired.
Since I wouldn't have my car until next week, I called Matt to see if he could take us to the hospital but of course, no answer.
I'm so glad I didn't give him no pussy because he's really never there when we need him to be. I didn't want to bother Lexi because she helps out with so much already, and my mom and Sevyn were both at work.
I grew irritated by her crying until I eventually thought of one other person. I called my childhood friend Brandon. I knew he had a crush on me back then and I sort of liked him too, but I don't think those feelings were the same simple and I tried to keep it at a distance because of my deranged ass baby daddy.
"Hello?" His raspy voice echoed through the phone.
I went into another room so he wouldn't hear Shiloh's loud cries.
"Hey B, are you busy right now?" I asked nervously.
"Never too busy for you. What's up Lena? You good?" Brandon asked. I loved that he was so concerned and caring.
"It's not me it's Shiloh. She has a terrible fever and I need to get her to the hospital. Matt won't answer my calls and—"
"Say no more. I'll be there in about twenty minutes."
A smile instantly graced my face as I blew of a sigh of relief.
"Thank you so much B.""You know I got you. I'll see you in a bit." He said before we ended the call.
This was the first time that I would be seeing Brandon outside of work hours. I wonder how he dressed and if he looked better outside his scrubs. I never really knew why I didn't give Brandon a fair chance, maybe because we were too young. When I got older I had already given birth to Shiloh and I figured Matt and I would eventually get back together but he always gives me the run around.
I wanted Matt and I to be a family but he's too busy worried about other hoes and selling drugs. He think he's my pimp and I'm his hoe at times but that was all a front.
When Brandon arrived, he helped me put my baby in the car then helped me inside. Such a gentleman.
"How long has she been sick?" He asked pulling off heading to our destination. He did look better since the last time I seen him.
The fresh cut he always kept looked crispier than ever. The diamonds that hung off his neck and wrist made me wet. He was so handsome especially with the freckles he had that covered his cheeks. I must've had a thing for light skin men. They drive me crazy.
"Lena? You there?" He laughed at the fact that I was daydreaming.
I shook my head, "For about four days now. I have to see what's going on with her."
I guess he could hear the sadness in my voice because he place his hand gently on my thigh. Don't start nothing you can't finish Brandon.
