"20 years ago, a second Cybertronian war broke out, the Autobots waged their war against the Decepticons on the planet Earth, led by the legendary Optimus Prime, even though he wasn't a legend at the time. the war came to an end when Unicron, the Chaos bringer, threatened to destroy both Earth and Cybertron forcing the Autobots and Decepticons to put their differences aside and work together to stop Unicron once and for all. after Unicron was destroyed, Optimus Prime became one with the core of Cybertron to reverse the damage done by Unicron at the cost of his own life. his sacrifice brought in a new era of peace on Cybertron, ending centuries of conflict. Hot shot inherited the Matrix of Leadership becoming Rodimus Prime, new leader of the Autobots. after the war ended the Autobots and their allies at F.I.E.L.D. helped establish peace between the peoples of Earth and Cybertron, signing a treaty known as the human-autobot cooperation act forging an alliance of between the two races along with the construction of New Iacon in Upstate New York, a city where humans and Cybertronian immigrants live together in harmony. this age came to be known as the new golden age"
