Here I go

I'm sitting on the plane, staring at the clouds in the light blue sky. I can feel my heart beating in my chest, I'm nervous but somewhere I know that it's okay, I am going to be just fine.

It's going to be a long flight, so I decide to put on my headphones and watch a movie. After a couple of hours we got served dinner which I let be followed by a long nap. I have always loved flying, it feels calm in some sort of way. I wish I could have done it more in the past couple of years.

The plane descends and slowly, bit by bit the land appears again. A smile forms on my face when I see the little houses from my window. It's busy in the city underneath me. I feel the plane's weels hitting the ground when I hear a flight attendant through the speakers "Welcome, in Berlin".

I walk through the big hallways at the airport looking for my ride. I scan the room and find a man holding a sign: 'Harper.G'. I walk up to the unknown man shaking his hand. He will take me to my place for the upcoming weeks, and then nothing can go wrong anymore.

I let myself fal; on the huge, soft bed. I am here, I am really here. I would never thought that I would say yes to this job. Being able to conduct reseach into the history of Berlin is one thing, but staying there yourself to conduct the reseach is another.
