I was coming out of the bathroom after getting ready for bed, only wearing a pair of underwear and a tank top.I walked into our bedroom, stretching my hands above my head to tie my hair up in a bun as I walked around to my side of the bed.
"Wait stop" Bo said quickly.
I froze and my eyes widened in shock I stood at the end of the bed, staring at him with confusion.
"What? What?" I said out in a panic.
"Turn to the side" Bo said, quickly pulling out his phone.
I turned to my side slowly my arms hanging in the air, confusion written all over my face.
"You're showing" he said with a smile, taking a picture.
I looked at myself in the floor mirror that sat in the corner of my room, putting my hand on my stomach, surprise dancing across my face.
I hadn't even noticed the small bump protruding from the area where my uterus sits. I was enamoured by the fact that there was a physical sign of our baby. Everything started to feel real now. The life we were creating rested in my palm.
I turned back towards Bo as I cradled my small bump, smiling big as he took more pictures with a goofy smile on his face.
Once he was done, I crawled into bed next to him, looking at the pictures he had taken. He leaned in closer and placed his hand on my stomach, rubbing soft circles over the curved surface.
"I can't believe we can see them now, like they're really in there" he said quietly, as if not wanting the baby to hear. He continued to stare at my stomach in amazement, enamoured with the little one growing in there.
"I guess we need to start actually thinking about their arrival. Like making a birth plan, getting a nursery set up, packing a hospital bag" I rambled on.
Despite me listing off random boring things we had yet to do, the smile on his face never once faltered as his undivided attention was on me.
"Why don't we have my parents come down for a weekend? You guys can come to watch a game together and my mom can help you plan all this stuff?" He asked.
"That would be perfect" I said with smile, leaning in to peck his lips.

Bo's parents, Dante and Mariana, had flown in last night to spend the weekend before Bo's schedule got really busy and to help me start planning everything before the second trimester."Oh this is nice, the bars are a bit thicker so the baby won't be able to stick their limbs through the gaps" Mariana said as we walked down the aisle of cribs.
We had decided to start with a plan for the nursery. I knew it was still really early but I wanted everything to be ready before I got too lazy to do anything.
While Bo and his dad had gone to the baseball field to run some drills with his teammates, Mariana and I decided to go shopping for the baby, getting her advice on things I would need and what furniture would be best.
"I think regardless of the gender, I want the room to kind of be neutral. It doesn't have to be plain and boring but it also doesn't need to be insane. The baby won't care" I joked.
She laughed as we continued to walk down the aisle, "You know, you really are doing great so far sweetheart. I know a lot of girls in your position wouldn't be as calm as you are" she said sweetly.
