Walking up to the front door I looked around and saw many people looking at me, making me weirdly uncomfortable. "Hey wait up, you didn't come here alone" I turn to look at my brother giving him the dirtiest mean mug and him returning one as well. "I know you're not going to be telling me what to do. I'm not a child." I responded with a snarky tone. "You just got out of a mental hospital for doing something childish so until you fix your childish decisions, I will continue to treat you as one.". The nerve of this boy is insane."Okay whatever, where are your friends anyway? Aren't they supposed to meet us here?" "Yea, they're walking towards us now- YO whatsup homies!" I roll my eyes and start walking away as they start chatting up a storm. Man, I wish I had friends like that. I take out my phone and check my messages hoping my friend responded and that she is coming. To my great relief, she responded in all caps "GIRL I'M ALREADY HERE COME FIND ME". I look up from my phone to see her running towards me, "LOVEY" "AHHHHH CHELSEA". We had eyes on us everywhere due to us squealing like little girls.
"OMG, how are you?! How have you been?!" she says holding me like her life depended on it.
"Chels you're acting like we didn't just see each other a few days ago!" I say with a bit of annoyance and excitement.
"I know but I missed you! Is it a crime to miss my best friend?" she said with a huge grin.
"I guess not" I shrugged nonchalantly as we started talking about ourselves since we didn't know each other as well as we liked. While talking, we noticed my brother and his friends walking up to us, all giving us curious looks.
One of his friends though, stood out to me. He caught my eye. His tall figure and chocolate brown eyes made my heart race almost beating out of my chest. I stare at him noticing all the features and secretly checking him out. At least I thought I was. He was well built, with caramel skin and curls for days. His smile was the thing that stood out to me, unfortunately, I noticed it when he caught me staring.
"Who are you?" he says with a tone no one has ever talked to me with before.
Before I could answer, my brother decided to put in his 2 cents. "Not important, You," my brother said pointing at me "Go with your little friend and leave mine alone. You always do this."
"Whatever, c'mon Chels let's go," I said in annoyance walking away not wanting to argue with him.
"Hey wait up!" one of my brother's friends, Jackson shouted walking towards me and Chelsea.
"Can I walk with you guys? There's WAY too much testosterone over there and it's SO overwhelming" he says with an exhausted tone.
"Yeah, Of course." I was tired of trying to be included in my brother's friend group so I guess I let them come to me.
I had known Jackson for years and had started to grow a liking to him. He and I had been somewhat friends in middle school and lost contact when we reached high school. Things happened in a short amount of time and I couldn't bring myself to talk to him again. But then again here we are talking because he became best friends with my brother.
We walked around a bit more while we talked about random things. Chelsea left us to go find my brother which I should've known was a bad idea considering she had a history of playing with people's feelings. Bad decision on her part. That meant that Jackson and I were left alone. There was so much awkward tension in the air since I knew he liked me but I didn't feel the same way much to his dismay.
We eventually found the others in the arcade and as I expected, Chelsea was trying to butter up my brother and his friends. Jackson and I walked over to them and I made eye contact with the cutie from earlier. He looked at me up and down and had this devilish smirk on his face. I decided to ignore it but smile back nonetheless. Something about his smile gave me a warm feeling in my chest.
