Wille's POV:

"Wow this park is so pretty," I said looking around the vast green space.

"I know right, it's my favorite. Char and I love to hang out here," he replied smiling suspiciously. "Alright, let's set everything up." He pulled out an adorable red and white checkered picnic cloth out of his backpack, laying it down onto the spiky grass gently.

"When are the others getting here?" I asked, sitting down onto the smooth surface.

"Should be pretty soo-" He was cut off by their arrival.

"Hey!" Simon exclaimed, walking up to me with a smile wider than you could imagine.

"Simme!" I got up and wrapped my arms around him in a hug, careful not to knock out the paper bag he was carrying. "This is Nick," I said, pointing next to me. "Nick-Simon, Simon-Nick," they waved at each other, exchanging friendly looks.

"Hi I'm Charlie, nice to meet you!" The short, frail-looking boy with curly hair (quite similar to Simme's) said to me. He took a seat next to Nick, giving him a small side-hug while putting down a carrier of drinks

"Look what we brought!" Simme said, pulling out a bunch of goodies from the bag he was carrying.

"Wait is that-"

"Your favourite." Simme smiled at me warmly after passing over my favourite type of sandwich. Salmon and cream cheese. I loved how thoughtful he was, always remembering the little things. He was so perfect.

There was a short period of silence before Simon coughed awkwardly and started to pass the others their pastries.

"Yesss ham and cheese! Thank you Char," Nick smiled at Charlie with the same look that Simme gave me.

"No problem, just enjoy!" He smiled back.

"So, what drinks did you get?" I asked, gesturing to the drink carrier full of four white plastic cups.

"Chocolate milkshakes!" Charlie replied, looking over to his side cheekily. "Oh sorry Nick, did you want bubblegum?" They both chuckled. Simme and I looked over at each other and shrugged. Must have been an inside joke.

We all took sips of our drinks, I couldn't believe how delicious it was.

"Oh my god this is amazing," Simon exclaimed.

"I know right, Charlie got me hooked," Nick replied, taking a bite out of his croissant. We spent a whole two hours simply chuckling, eating and laughing about old stories before we decided to pack up.

"That was so fun," I said, fishing for an invitation to another activity.

"Yess we should totally all hang out again sometime," Nick replied.

"Well school starts tomorrow, but we can definitely see each other after hours!" Charlie said, reaching into the pocket of his skinny ripped jeans, pulling out a phone, and passing it to me.
"Put in your number, I'll make a group chat for us all!"

"Sure!" I typed in my number and shortly after received a notification from an insta group called "The picnic bunch," it was nerdy, but cute. (Like Simme 😉)

"We better get going," said Simon, picking up some of the leftover trash.

"Sure, see you tomorrow!" I said, leaning in for a hug.

"Love you," I heard him whisper.

"Love you," I whispered back.
