Day 1000 after the outbreak
As a woman with blonde hair sprinted away from a swarm of zombies, panic etched across her face, she stumbled over a rock and crashed to the ground. With terror gripping her heart, she watched as the undead horde closed in on her, their moans filling the air.
In a desperate plea, she cried out, "Help me, please! I don't want to die!" Tears streamed down her cheeks as she braced herself for the inevitable.
Suddenly, gunfire erupted from a distance, cutting through the eerie silence of the scene. Bullets tore through the ranks of the zombies, felling some of the undead menace.
Out of the shadows emerged a tall figure, donning a long beard and mullet, brandishing a long sword with unparalleled precision and skill. He wore a blue band around his wrist, symbolizing his allegiance. His name was Finn Donald, the second-in-command of the Marixs faction.
With swift and decisive strikes, Finn dispatched the remaining zombies, his movements fluid and calculated. As the last of the undead fell to the ground, he approached the terrified woman, offering her a hand to help her up.
"Are you alright?" he asked, his voice steady despite the chaos that had unfolded moments before.
The woman nodded, relief flooding her features as she clung to Finn's offered hand. Together, they retreated to safety, knowing that they had narrowly escaped the clutches of death, thanks to Finn's bravery and skill.
The Speech
Nearly 3 years back,
31st March 2024, Erithra (A Country in Asia)
In the seminar hall, the scientists were gathered impatiently, eagerly waiting for the arrival of the project director. The discussions about the project were in full swing and the atmosphere was charged with excitement. Suddenly, a tall and authoritative-looking man in his fifties, dressed in a white coat, marched up to the podium and took charge of the room, ready to deliver his address.
"Hello people My name is Dr. John Chu, What we are about to do is a masterpiece, We are going to challenge God and His creation, 'THE DEATH'."
A pin-drop silence around the hall it is like when we are in space...
Dr. John Chu revealed some exciting news, "It's true, we're embarking on a journey to discover the possibility of immortality. For me, I want to have an endless life to spend with the love of my life, But Three years ago, I lost her, and ever since then, I've been working tirelessly to create a solution that can bring people back from the dead. Our project is called 'THE REBIRTHX', which is a virus that we believe can regenerate human cells and bring people back to life. This groundbreaking discovery has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about life and death."
"Listen up, everyone. We are here for a reason - to bring hope to a dying world. We all know what is to lose your loved ones, you may have lost your wife, your husband, your parents, or your lover. But now I have the solution - the blueprint of the virus that can help us turn the tide. I am willing to do whatever it takes to make this project work, even if it means sacrificing my own life. So I ask you - are you with me? Are you ready to step up and challenge death itself? Let's show the world what we're capable of."
A thunderous round of applause erupted in the room, reverberating off the walls and filling the air with a palpable energy. All eyes were fixed on Dr. John Chu, who stood confidently in front of the crowd of curious scientists. With each word, their conviction grew stronger, and the audience was captivated by their every gesture and expression. Heads nodded in agreement, and murmurs of approval rippled through the crowd, signaling a shared understanding of Dr.Chu's project.
TRAILS
DR. John Chu's Diary:
31st march 2024: My dear Mia, today I gave a wonderful speech about a project that will change the world. Starting next week, we will begin the final preparations for the trials. Our long-awaited meeting is almost here, my dear.
15th April 2024: Dear Mia, I am filled with excitement to share that our team has made a remarkable breakthrough in our project. We have successfully achieved a neural link to a deceased pig, and its neural activities have started functioning again. Our colleagues have urged me to move forward with the next crucial step, The Trials. We have all worked tirelessly for weeks to reach this momentous achievement, and I can only imagine what incredible possibilities the future holds for us.
20th April 2024: Fu*k I'm feeling quite agitated by the situation at hand. I wish you were here with me to help me cope with these annoying people who are still stalling the trials. They seem adamant about activating the heart of the pig. I can't wait for the trials to finally begin, but these individuals are delaying the process, and it's becoming increasingly frustrating. I know I need to do something quickly, but I'm not sure what my next move should be. I'm hopeful that things will fall into place, but I can't help feeling impatient and anxious about what the future holds.
25th April 2024: My dear, I have done something wrong. I was angry at him, I wanted to show that my thesis worked and that I would create the cure so I did it. All I wanted was to create immortality but I have created the death. I shouldn't have done that... I created the death of mortals. My guilt is eating me, I can't take it anymore. I love you Mia, I wanted to live forever with you, and I hope I will meet you again. I am scared..
Bang.. A GUNSHOT Heard all over the apartment complex.
Rose POV:
It has been two weeks since Dr. John Chu gave his speech, and we have all been working tirelessly since then. We have made remarkable progress in theory, but recently, during our pig trials, we encountered some issues with the animal's heart functions. Despite this, Dr. Chu is determined to move forward with human trials. However, there are many people, including our professor at Harvard University, Dr. Neil Jackson, who are against it. It is becoming a daily occurrence to see both of them engaged in heated arguments.
Today, on April 25th, it seems like Dr. Chu is even more angry with Dr. Neil than before.
"You are wasting yours, and our time Jackson, I am saying it will work so just start the goddamn Human trails" shouted Dr. Chu at Dr. Neil.
"And I am saying this won't work and why are so stubborn Dr. Chu. why can't you wait for a few more days," said Dr. Neil
..... Dr. Chu was silent and left angrily.
About three hours after that incident, I received a phone call from Dr. Neil. The news he shared was beyond imaginable. A catastrophic breach had occurred in the laboratory, and as I quickly connected to the lab's cameras, I was met with a scene of utter horror. In the aftermath of the breach, many of our colleagues began to exhibit bizarre and alarming behavior. They had turned into something akin to zombies, attacking and consuming their fellow lab members. The situation was nothing short of a nightmare. As the ravenous zombies feasted upon their victims, a strange and unsettling phenomenon began to occur. Those who had previously succumbed to the undead's insatiable hunger began to stir and twitch, their lifeless bodies reanimated.
"What might have caused this? Are these events related to Dr. Chu's death? Is there any indication that he may have been involved? Also, is there any way to control or stop the creatures responsible for this? They seem to have an insatiable hunger that poses a serious threat to the existence of humans. What steps can we take to protect ourselves?" I thought to my self
I think the end of the world has started.
Then I packed my bags and went to meet Dr. Neil.
