Dude. I have like, almost 200 views. That. Is. Awesome. Seriously. I just... Oh my gosh. I thought I would get no more then 50 views. I'm over 100! I love you guys. So I'm writing this on my swing outside, and my dad has no idea WHY I would be on a screen while in nature. Anyway, today was my last day of school. Hi, I'm from the future! Now that I'm finally updating, it's actually the middle of summer! Oops. Here's more past Maddy. I got home, went to Friendly's with my brother and mother, and then I got home and skateboarded. I have a ripstik, or however that's spelled, it's one of those skateboards with two wheels that you have to balance on. I'm pretty good at it, I'm teaching my little cousin. Well, now that I'm done with this super long author's note, here's the story!

FREDDEH'S POV

Finally, I was up to the point where there was no way I'd be able to fall back asleep even if I tried. I don't think I'll be able to sleep for the next week! I looked down my chest at Sam. She was still sleeping, even though it was, um.... 12:34 in the afternoon?!?! I usually eat lunch around now! There's no way Carly could still be asleep, she didn't have to get up like 5 times during the night to check on Sam. I was the one who did, and I'm fine- wait, where's Carly? I wanted to get up to look for her, but judging how Sam acted when I moved, I'm not moving unless it's an emergency. I sighed and readjusted her slightly, so she wasn't almost falling off my chest. She sighed contently in her sleep.

"Freddie?" Carly asked, walking into the room, scaring me. "Are you up?"

"Mm-hm. Where were you?"

"Getting breakfast. I woke up like an hour ago."

"Okay."

"Why didn't you wake me up for my shift?"

"Oh, I set my alarm for when I needed to give her medicine and then made sure she wouldn't flip onto her stomach or side. So we could both get some decent sleep."

She nodded.

"Do you want to go get breakfast? I'll wait with Sam."

I don't know why she is acting like this, like Sam's my responsibility and she's just here to help out and ask what to do. Not that I minded, of course! I just thought that this whole thing would be her telling me what to do. And now I'm suddenly the boss, just because I'm the one who was up with her the whole night, and the one who diagnosed her appendicitis in the first place, and her one source of body heat, and... oh.

"Um, I'm good." I said. Sam would freak if I moved her and then wasn't even there to comfort her. If I just.... left. That would scare her so bad. I couldn't.

"I don't think I should leave Sam, I'm like her only source of body heat." I covered quickly.

"Oh, I could take over," Carly assured me, "And you wouldn't have been her only source of heat if you hadn't stolen her from my side." She said jokingly.

"You know I didn't."

"Yeah, I'm sorry. Just trying to lighten up the mood, it's usually her job. How's she doing, Doctor?"

I laughed. "I think you'll have to ask a real doctor or nurse, sorry."

"Are you talking to me?" Said the nurse taking care of Sam, walking in at that same exact moment.

"Of course. Sure. That happened. How's Sam doing?"

"I'll have to check her incision."

She made sure everything was okay and smiled.

"Well, it looks like she can go home this afternoon! We just need to keep her a little longer, to make sure she can still walk and her pain is minimum."
