"Wake Up," a voice whispered, shaking me.
"Wake up Nova!" My eyes opened.
"Nova!" My mother shouted as my father lifted me into his arms.
"Dad?" I tried asking. It came out as a hoarse cry.
"What in the hell Happened sweetheart?" My father demanded. I tried recalling what happened, but anything I remembered made no logical sense. Best to leave it alone. I pointed to my throat and tried to tell him water. My mother came rushing out with it, urgently pushing the cup on my lips. I swallowed the water greedily. When I was sure enough to talk, I spoke.
"Forgot bag in locker. Aloud to go and get it. Passed out. Woke up here," Sadly that took too much effort for me. I became tired. With the help of my parents I walked upstairs into my room. They lied me onto my bed, then left with a promise of checking up on me. I sighed and looked at the cheer-leading posters and trophy's on the wall. I kept them up there for my parents, so that they don't know their daughter became a social Pariah.
Yes, I used to be a cheerleader. The head cheerleader to be exact. But ever since I zapped Tracy Evans off the top of the pyramid (And accidentally causing her to sprain her neck) the school has shunned me. Yeah, I know its dumb but I honestly could care less.
A knock sounded at my door and I looked as it opened. Gray practically pranced into my room, smirking.
"'Extra! Extra! Nova is a freak! News is, that she passed out in front of her house after frantically running out of school!' It made the school newspaper!" Gray said as she picked up the newspaper on my desk.
"Bitch," I muttered, giving her the sliest smiles.
"Awh, poor Nova, can't deal with little ol' Gray?" She gave the official Gray pout, the one that drove the boys mad. I chuckled and threw a pillow at her.
"Isn't there practice today?" I asked moving over so she could sit down. She shrugged, a twinkle in her eye.
"I thought you don't care, Nova?"
"I Don't" I said firmly.
"Well, since you don't care, yes there is. You wanna take my place? Maybe the new headline could be 'Cat Fight Number Two: Return Of Nova'" I chuckled.
"You know I didn't do shit to Tracy."
"Yes, I do. But she sure as Hell juiced the crap out of that. 'I thought we were best friends, she would never do this to me. I guess she was jealous of me'" I raised an eyebrow at her.
"She really say that bull crap?" Gray chuckled and picked at her nails. I rolled my eyes and put my hand in my pants pocket. There was something there. A piece of paper. I pulled it out and examined it. The pamphlet Ms. Fleur gave to me? I slipped it under my pillow, making sure Gray didnt notice.
"So Caspen has been all over me recently. I know I kissed him, but hell, I'm not the relationship person." Gray said.
"Gray, you've been spending too much time with the whores from whore island." I tried to hide in a giggle.
"Shut up Nova, your no better. Who the hell do you hang with? The fucking potted plant in the library?" One thing you learn about Gray, no matter how hurtful her comments can be, you always drop them. I sighed and lied back on my bed.
"Your no fun, I'm leaving." Gray announced and left. No matter how much I hated her, I loved her too. I pulled the pamphlet from underneath my pillow and looked at it, and actually read what it said.
The Pamphlet.
'Reading the cover, you may think this school is not what you need. But I assure you, this is not at all what it seems like. This school is a highly educated school, not only for smarts, but helping with the odd occurrences happening around you.'
When I finished reading the pamphlet, I tore it to shreds. What the hell was that suppose to be?! I took a deep breath, and stood up, but immediately fell back on my bed.
Lie down, You need sleep my darling Nova. I admittedly lied down as the soothing voice hummed in my head. Soon enough I was asleep
