Veneer had jumped slightly as their mother came through the door,
slamming it. The whole house shook, making a few pictures fall off of the wall. She stomped over to velvets bedroom door, whipping it open. "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!" Her mother threw an envelope at Velvet, making her flinch. She picked it up and shrugged. "How am I supposed to know?" She asked, holding the envelope. "You owe fucking money! And it's a lot!" She yelled, crossing her arms. "Well what am I supposed to do?" Velvet asked, throwing her hands up. Her mother let out a weak chuckled and walked out of the room.

Velvet, being confused, got up and followed her angry mother. When she had arrived to the kitchen, she saw Veneer eating dinner. Not bothering to even inform her that it was time to eat. Velvet was then hit with a thick newspaper, making her yelp. It dropped to the floor as Velvet rubbed her head. "A job?" Her mother nodded and walked over to her. "Time to get off your lazy ass and actually work for once" she actually sounded nice for once. Weird. Velvet looked down at the paper, not looking forward to looking for a job. Although, of course Veneer was already given a job. Basically set up.

She sighed, picking up the news paper and walking back into her room. She flopped onto her bed, looking at the pile of papers. "This'll be fun" she mumbled, placing it on the night stand. She stared at the ceiling, thoughts running through her head like a subway. The pale moonlight shown through the window, making velvet flip onto her side. She grabbed an extra pillow, wrapping her arms loosely around it. She cuddled close to it, like it was another person. Or she wished it was.

You mourned work that morning. Working at a coffee shop wasn't very ideal. BUT, you make a lot of money, somehow. You walked into work, expecting Silver to come over to you and scold you on being late. You watched as people rushed around, taking drive thru orders and attending people at the counter. "Y/N!" A girl called out, making you turn around to see Cherry standing there. "Where were you?! It's crazy here!" You laughed awkwardly and nodded. "Yeah, sorry I'm late. I would've gotten here faster if I knew it would be this busy" You scratched your neck.

She groaned and looked around. "Better be glad that Silver hasn't seen you yet! She's pissed. Missy quit today!" She informed you, making your mouth hang open. "Missy quit?! Why?" You asked, frowning. She shrugged and rushed over to one of the coffee makers. "I dunno. But you better get going before Silver rains hell down on you!" I laughed at her joke, and made my way over to the backroom. I clocked in, and made my way back out to the barista counter. You attended a customer that stood there at the counter, tapping their fingers.

"Sorry about the wait ma'am, what can I get you?" You asked, smiling at them. They gave you their order, and you went to work. After about an hour or 2, you finally had break. You collapsed in a chair, huffing. Until your co worker, Chanel, came in to get you. "Someone's requesting you" she said, directing you to the counter. You groaned and got up, walking out of the break room and up to the counter. "I knew I could smell you guys" You said, putting a smug look on your face. Your girlfriend, Syrene, and your friends Tevin and Prada stood there waiting for you. "Hey babe" you smiled, leaning over the counter to give her a kiss on the cheek.

Though, she put her hand up and looked down at her phone. "Nuh uh uh, coffee first" you frowned and looked at Tevin and his girlfriend Prada. You wished your relationship was more like theirs, they were a nice couple. "What are you guys doing here?" You asked, as you began to make Syrenes coffee. "Thought we'd save you from this hell." Tevin said, shrugging. Prada nodded, clinging onto her boyfriend. "Right, and how would you do that?" Tevin, who was about to speak was interupted by his optimistic girlfriend. "Shopping of course! All on Tevin!" You mixed up the drink with a shake and gave it to Syrene, who took it forcefully.
