The morning came quickly. As did my nerves, I don't know why I feel so nervous. Well...I mean... I haven't seen Kai since high school, that's true, But how different can one person get? The only thing that has changed about me is the way I dress and I take better care of my hair, other than that, I'm the same old Opal from high school. It must be the same for him. His voice sounded so se- *Ahem* I mean deep, so I know that changed... and I know boys get a growth spurt so he must be a little taller than before so bam that should be it, right?
I rub my face aggressively as if it would help take these thoughts away and start getting up to start my day.
I want to start taking my things there now that it's morning so by the time it's around the afternoon all I have to worry about is saying goodbye to my parents. Good plan right? I agree. I don't have much stuff so it shouldn't take up that much of the day. Just in case Kai has to do things later I don't want to be a bother.
After saying good morning to my parents I went ahead and ate breakfast before explaining to them where I would go.
"So... you guys remember Kai right?" I question nervously.
"Aww wittle Kai-Kai, yes of course we remember him." My mom says in a baby voice while looking up at me.
"Great! So we talked and he agreed to be roommates! Isn't that awesome?" I said with a smile.
"We are happy you still talk to him, sweetheart. We were scared you might've kicked him to the curb or something. haha! Be careful though honey, that boy has always had a soft spot for you. Don't take advantage of that." She says in a cautious tone.
"Soft spot? What are you talking about mom, we're just friends. Relax" I said while rolling my eyes.
"Whatever you say, honey. Just be careful, that's all. When will you be leaving then?" she questioned while tilting her head.
"Today actually. He said he would be home all day and offered to help me settle in." I said with a small smile.
"Okay, do you need any help loading your car?" she says while getting up and collecting the dirty dishes to put them in the sink.
"No that's alright, I don't have that many things anyways." I said while helping her collect the dishes.
After we put all the dishes in the sink my mom stops in front of me and gives me a big hug.
I hug her back and after a while, I slowly pull away.
I kiss her forehead and start heading outside to unlock my car to start loading it up.
After I finished loading up my car I went back to my room to see how many more things I had left to take. I thought I could fit it all in one trip but I guess I'm going to have to make a second one. It's alright, not like I have anything better to do. It's pretty early... I hope Kai is awake.
I head downstairs and kiss my parents goodbye before heading towards Kai's house.

Once I arrive at his street I start to notice how nice his neighborhood is.
I know he said his house was at the end of the street but what he failed to mention was the fact that his house is also the largest.
"What did I get myself into." I thought to myself as I leaned my head on my steering wheel.
Well, no time to waste I guess. I got out of the car and walked up to the front door. Why do I feel so nervous all of a sudden? I do a couple of woosahs before finally mustering up the courage to knock.
