As another day come to the rise, I find myself standing in front of my closet, pondering over which outfit to pick for the office. There's an undeniable thrill that courses through me every time I get ready for work – the excitement of selecting the perfect dress, carefully styling my hair, and applying just the right amount of soft makeup.
There's something truly uplifting about the routine of dressing up nicely; it's as if each clothes hold the promise of a new things ahead.
"Good morning Sarah," Dean's familiar voice greeted me from behind, catching me off guard as I entered the office. His playful chuckle hinted at his attempt to make a highlight of my lateness.
"Yeah, sorry about that" I responded with a sheepish grin, chalk up to my lateness to the crazy morning traffic.
Dean's teasing continued, "Maybe you should consider moving from the countryside a bit closer to the office, Sarah. It might save you from these worse traffic." It was the first time he had cracked a joke with me, and I couldn't help but laugh as I made my way to my desk.
Despite the light-hearted crosstalk, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. Every day, I couldn't help but notice Dean's glances in my direction, even though he seemed to be hypnotic on his work behind the glow of his computer screen. His hidden scrutiny left me feeling increasingly awkward.
"Sarah, Otto wants you to be involved in the upcoming event," Anna, my senior secretary, suddenly announced as I was compelling in my work. Her words took me by surprise, and I could help but feel flutter of excitement mixed with a hint of worry.
"But I've only been here for two months, is that okay?" I asked, my voice tinged with uncertainty.
"Absolutely, it's more than okay," Anna reassured me with a smile. "You'll be in charge of coordinating all the visitors for the event, which is coming up in November. You'll have one month to prepare, so start making a list of the visitors and what they'll need. I'll provide you with all the contacts you'll need, including the htotel and the preson in charge"
As Anna spoke, my mind raced with thoughts and questions. There was so much to consider, and I couldn't help but overthink it all.
"You can communicate with Dean regarding all the VIP's because he ill be in charge of that. Please don't make any mistakes," anna added, her tone emphasizing the importance of the task ahead.
As the weight of responsibility settled on my shoulders, I couldn't shake the worry bite at the back of my mind. What if someone at the upcoming event asked me about the company, and I didn't have enough knowledge to answer confidently? I needed to find a solution, and fast.
Spotting Dean at his desk, seems not too occupied with work, I come up the courage to approach him. With a hesitant knocking on his door, I peeked inside. "Hi Dean, are you busy?"
Dean looked up with a warm smile. "No, of course not. What can I help you with?" he offered kindly.
Taking a deep breath, I gathered my thoughts "Anna mentioned that I'll be in charge of arranging accommodations for the VIPs during the event next months, and I should communicate with you," I explained, hoping I wasn't overstepping any bounds.
Dean nodded in understanding. "Ah, yes, I'll email you for the VIPs lists," he confirmed.
Feeling a bit relax by his positive response, I pressed on. "And, would it be possible for you to schedule a product knowledge sharing session for me? I could really use it," I added warmly hoping he would agree.
"Of course, glad you asked. How about tomorrow morning around 9am? Does that work for you?" Dean suggested.
I couldn't hide my relief. "Ah, okay! That sounds perfect. Thank you so much, Dean. I'll see you tomorrow," I replied eagerly, grateful for his willingness to help.
