I had been gone for a good long while now, so the packing I had to do was crazy. By the time I had gathered all my stuff, it was the afternoon. I decided to just take my crotch rocket and Jack with me and I would come back for the rest later.
"Jack, come on boy!" I slipped on my helmet and revved up my engine. I drove out through the woods on the trail I had mapped out until I got to the highway. I knew that just a couple miles down was the turn off to the farm. It was seconds after I turned on the drive that I heard the gunfire. I hit the throttle and jumped the ramp I had made for my bikes and sped off, leaving dust clouds in my wake. I turned the corner to see some man shooting a little girl, while the ground was covered with the bodies of walkers. Sliding to a stop, I stared in shock at the massacre that had occurred. I had never agreed with Hershel's opinion on walkers, but I would never have done this. My helmet was still on as I jumped off the bike and ran to Beth. She cried into my shoulder and Maggie joined her. When I let go, I went to Hershel. He looked so broken. I stood up from him, facing away from all the people that were strewn about the scene. I took off my helmet.
"Beth," I said scarily calmly, looking over my shoulder at her, "who started this?" She pointed to a man behind me. I spun around and reached to grab my weapon, when I realized.
"Shane Walsh. I'll be damned." He looked at me for a moment before the recognition crossed his face.
"Rose?" he asked with that stupid twang of his.
"Well who the hell else? Oh and I see, from this lovely display, that you're still a douche bag," the tone of my voice was obviously disgusted. He looked flabbergasted for a moment before turning to someone else. "Did this asshole just turn his back to me?" I thought to myself. I walked forward, when I saw him.
There, standing just past Shane, was my big brother, Rick. He looked into my eyes with shock before it quickly turned to happiness. As he started walking towards me, I backed up and lifted my hands.
"Stay, the hell, away from me," but he just kept coming.
"Rose? Please let's talk-" that was how he began his sentence. How Dare he tell me let's talk.
"No! No, Rick, I don't want to talk," my voice was carrying through the fields," what is there to talk about? How you disowned me or how even after four years, you still weren't there to pick me up?"
"I jus-" "GO to Hell, Rick!" Shane walked up to intercede, but stopped when he caught my glare. As I was turning to leave, a woman, I instantly recognized as Lori, ran up.
"Rose why don't we try and figure this out?"
"What? Figure what out?!" "This whole argument." " NO! You know what y'all did! You know you could have helped, but did you? No! You abandoned me!" I was almost crying by this point, when a little boy walked up and stood behind Lori.
"Mom, who is that?" It couldn't be. There was no way this boy was Carl. But he was, just by looking, you could tell he had Rick's eyes.
"Carl?" I turned to look at Rick, " You didn't tell him about me?!" I looked around and saw confusion on all of his companions faces. He hadn't told anyone. I stepped back and looked around.
"Oh please, where are my manners? I'm Rose Grimes," I bowed sarcastically, "Rick's younger sister.
