A Blessing? Or Curse?

(This is a response to the non-canon chapter from Two Lives to Live.)

(Trigger warnings/tags: Blood, Semi-graphic depiction of a burnt corpse, Death of a loved one,  grief, grieving, loss of appetite? Neglecting health (DON'T DO THAT DRINK WATER!),

 [Kiza Pov.]

No... This- it can't be real. I have- no. Need to see this. I start to grab my stuff, not caring about how loud I'm being or how much of a mess I make. I need to be there.

I fly, I fly as fast as I possibly can.. only to see a bunch of burnt rubble. And the stench- I hate the smell of burning human. But. There's still someone in there I care for.

 [3rd person Pov.]

Kiza, the lovely girl. Started digging through the burnt rubble of the place that was once her home. Ashes staining her dress and claws, making them darker than they already were. Only the light of a lantern to guide her. She finds the thing she's looking for, or, well, person. Her adoptive mother, the woman who took care of her, Edna, or as you know her, The Teacher. Kiza, despite the fact that her mother is burnt, most of her skeleton showing with barely any flesh keeping it together, she hugs her. This is not something magic can just fix. Not like how the Dolls are made. Kiza picks up Edna. And carries her off back towards her home. Her mother deserves a proper burial, not to be thrown into sea water like trash.

 [Kiza Pov.]

Finally, I buried my mom. After that I just...sat in bed and cried, I cried until I couldn't find it within myself to cry anymore. The only parental figure I had...gone. In an instant. When was the last time I talked to her? Why couldn't I have gotten there sooner..? Maybe if I tried to convince her to stay with me this wouldn't have happened...

I need revenge. I need to punish whoever did this. I stood up, walking with a newfound determination to my father's family's side of my secret library. I searched, and searched, and searched. But could not find one that didn't involve killing them. No. Death is much too kind for whatever heathen decided to tear down my childhood home. I will make them pay.

 [3rd person Pov.]

Kiza, someone who now seeks revenge above all else. Has started to neglect her needs severely in search of making a new curse. She becomes much more thinner, she finds it's much more colder outside than before she started this project, but she brushes it off as the winter weather seeping in.

"This curse I cast upon thee, as punishment for the pain wrought in me, a lifetime of woe will begin to show, the truest forms of those."

Kiza had said. At first, she thought nothing happened, but she was soon proven wrong as a strong blistering wind started to swirl around her, strong enough to blow what has become her much smaller frame into the snow. The ground cold enough to hurt. She soon blacked out, unable to get back up.

She eventually woke up warm, with the smell of food nearby and the cracking of fire close. She was in Nich's cabin. Because, although worn down, the cabin was always warm due to the constant spring weather stuck within their little bubble of magic.

"Good afternoon sister, I found you quite soon. Your light nearly snuffed out by the winter weather." Nich floated towards Kiza, giving her a bowl of soup to eat. And Kiza took it and ate it. Because no matter how bad her sister is at cooking, this shows that she cares.

"Now, sister. Tell me why you look half-dead even though you are no longer dying? Must I remind you the importance of taking care of yourself and the body you live in?"

"No Nich I just-" Kiza sighed deeply, unsure of how to say it. "I've lost someone I hold dear to me, the crows tell me that two people burned down the school. I've done everything in my power to ensure that they'd pay for this, and I guess that also meant sacrificing my health for it as well. I am sorry."

Nich pouted, well, as well as one without a face could. "At least you know what you've done wrong, and you're taking responsibility for it too. You're staying here, until you're back to being healthy." She said, I knew that tone, there's no way to argue with her like this.

  I sigh, "Fine, I'll stay."

 [Meanwhile.]

Elsewhere, two people are freaking out over having suddenly being turned into animals, one, being a butterfly, the other, being a horse.

(Unfinished, but I still feel like it's good enough to publish. And while it's not canon in terms of plot. How Nich acts is canon. I see her as a mostly absent sister that, in your time of need, will come to your aid if she can.)
