My Nan, Aiko, opened the door. "Back so soon? You was here last month as well..." Miyako started sobbing heavily... Aiko looked at me. "It's him again, isn't it?"
"Yes, Nan..." She hugged Miyako and I. She was always like this... She understood everything.
"He didn't hit you, did he?" I didn't want to upset Miyako further so I whispered in Aiko's ear.
"Not me...but Miyako..."
"Come and sit down..." She helped Miyako into the softest couch. I sat on the floor... Aiko started saying the same conversation as we always have every time. "Why don't you leave him?"
"I can't... I love him..." Miyako replied.Looking around my nan's front room, my eyes fell on a photo of our family. My nan,my grandad, my little sister (before she got taken into care,) my mum, my dad (before he started drinking and gambling) and me.
"You can't love someone who does that to you?!" Tears filled my eyes... I wished I could love him... But what he has done to my family, I can't forgive him.
"I don't know..." Miyako looked tired and the worry lines on her face were even more visible than ever.
"You should get some sleep... The spare room is always set for you..." "I started to get up... Aiko spoke again, "Don't worry about unpacking..." I left. Changing the bandages on my wrist, I realised that I'd cut deeper than I thought... I replaced them and went to sleep but it was a restless night. But the worst waited for tomorrow... School.
