welcome to new york is the first track on taylor swift's 5th studio album. it's about taylor's big move to new york city and what it was like for her to explore a new city. it also represents moving on and focusing on the positives.

thoughts : i might sound a little cheesy saying this but when I went to new york city last year, i played this song when the city was in view, lol. this song is one of the best first track taylor has put out there. it puts out the message that we've entered a new era, a new sound. i love everything about this song and cannot express that enough. it pretty much sets the stage for 1989 and i think we were all there for that. it's also a straight bop! it's pretty much impossible to listen to this song without singing along, dancing and/or having your own concert moment!!
