Author's Note: Ok, you all know that LEGO Monkie Kid isn't a PBS Kids or Nickelodeon/ Nick Jr show, but since LEGO Monkie Kid feels like a Nickelodeon show in my opinion, and I felt like making a story using LMK characters based on the story Aladdin, I decided to write this story.
In the kingdom of Megapolis, a ruthless sorcerer and the royal vizier named Red Son, seeks a lamp hidden within the Cave of Rarities. He found a lowly thief named Chen, who helped him find the cave, and Red Son orders Chen to enter.
But Chen, angered by the intrusion, the Cave devoured Chen. The Cave then told Red Son, "Only one person, the diamond in the rough, is worthy to enter."
Red Son tries to find the worthy person for the cave, and then he, along with his parrot attendant Jun, later identified a street urchin named MK in the streets of Megapolis.
Meanwhile at the Megapolis palace, Princess Mei is upset by her father, Emperor Dragon, because of the obligation to marry a prince due to the law rather than for love, which was set by her father. She always wished that she could see the world beyond the palace rather than sitting at the palace.
Mei disguised herself as a street woman and secretly escapes from the palace. She is confronted by an angry merchant, but MK and his pet cat Mo saves her.
MK and Mei later develop a bond together, but the palace guards capture MK and Mo on Red Son's orders, and Mei revealed her true identity as a princess.
"Red Son, please let MK and Mo be free from the dungeon!" yelled Mei.
"Unfortunately, MK has been executed and shall never be seen again," Red Son answered, which made Mei very sad. But Red Son was lying.
The next day, Red Son, disguised as an elderly beggar, freed MK and Mo from the dungeon and brings them to the cave.
"Please, go in the cave and retrieve the lamp," said Red Son.
MK and Mo were walking into the cave entrance, but they were stopped by the voice of the guardian of the Cave of Mysteries.
"Go down these steps," commanded the guardian, "and at the bottom you will find a great cavern, divided into three halls, the first one full of vessels of gold and silver. If you touch anything in the halls, you will meet with instant death. The third hall will bring you into a garden, planted with fine fruit trees. When you have crossed the garden, you will come to a terrace, where you will find a niche, and in the niche a lighted lamp. Take the lamp down, and when you have put out the light and poured away the oil, bring it to me. If you would like to gather any of the fruit of the garden you may do so, provided you do not linger."
MK found everything as the magician had said, gathered some fruit off the trees, and got the lamp. He also found a magic carpet inside the cave as well. But Mo greedily grabs a large jewel, which triggered the cave's collapse!
MK and Mo arrived very fast at the mouth of the cave. Red Son stared at them and cried out in a great hurry: "Make haste and give me the lamp."
MK gives the lamp to Red Son, who throws him and Mo inside the collapsing cave, though not before Mo quickly steals the lamp from him.
MK remained in the dark cave, crying and lamenting. At last he clasped his hands in prayer, and in so doing rubbed the lamp, which Mo brought from him.
Immediately an enormous genie named the Monkey King rose out of the lamp.
"What wouldst thou with me? I am the Monkey King of the Lamp and will obey three wishes." MK tricked the Monkey King by not using a wish by replying fearlessly, "Deliver me from this place!" The earth opened, and he found himself outside the Cave of Mysteries.
"I really want to be released from servitude," said the Monkey King. "Use your last wish if you want to free me."
MK promised to use his last wish to free the Monkey King from his lamp. He uses his first wish to become "Prince Xiang Chang", intending to woo Mei.
Prince Xiang Chang then arrives to Megapolis with a large host. Mei astonishingly looks at the prince, but is angered by Emperor Dragon when he discusses her marriage with only MK and Red Son.
Later, when Mei waits at the palace, MK, along with his magic carpet, arrives at the palace.
"Mei, I've got a special surprise for you," said MK. Mei followed him, and she was surprised in excitement when she saw his magic carpet.
MK took Mei on a magic carpet ride as a means of apologizing. They saw many different places on their ride around the world, including the Pyramids of Egypt and the Great Wall of China.
They later stopped to take a break from the magic carpet ride. When Mei infers MK's true identity, he claims that he only dresses as a commoner to escape the stresses of royal life.
After MK brings Mei home, the palace guards capture MK, shocked, on Red Son's behest and throw him, bound and gagged, into the sea. Mei runs very worried to see what happened to MK.
The Monkey King appears and saves MK, at the cost of his second wish. MK returns to the palace and exposes Red Son's plot, prompting the latter to flee, but not before he glimpses the lamp and determines MK's true identity.
"No, I can't lose Mei if the truth is revealed!" MK screamed. He breaks his promise and refuses to free the Monkey King. Jun steals the lamp, and Red Son becomes the Monkey King's new master.
"I wish to become Emperor and the world's most powerful sorcerer!" yelled Red Son, using the first two wishes. He then takes control of the entire kingdom, and exposes MK, exiling him, Mo, and the carpet to a frozen wasteland.
The three escape the frozen wasteland and return to Megapolis, where Mei tries to help MK steal the lamp back.
Red Son notices and overpowers her, Mo, and the carpet with his magic before transforming into a colossal Cobra to devour MK, and trapping Mei inside an hourglass.
"Red Son, you're not that powerful as the Monkey King is!" said MK, tricking him into using his wish to become an all-powerful genie himself. Red Son screams as he gets sucked into the lamp, letting him be trapped inside it.
Now bound to his new lamp, Red Son ends up trapped inside it, taking Jun with him. The Monkey King then throws Red Son's lamp far into the desert, banishing Red Son and Jun to the Cave of Mysteries for 10,000 years. Megapolis then returns back to normal.
"You can use your third wish to regain your royal title and legally marry Mei." encouraged the Monkey King.
"Nah, I'll decide to keep my promise and free you instead," spoke MK. The Monkey King felt that he was not being pulled by the lamp, and he cheered happily.
Realizing MK's nobility, Emperor Dragon changes the law to allow Mei to marry whoever she chooses. The Monkey King bids the group a fond farewell and leaves to explore the world, while MK and Mei start their new life together.
The End
