Cure Gone Wrong...

The start of an ending...

5 days before...

[...] And, with the help of many fund raisers, we finally achieved the cure!

People were clapping and cheering of this new, it seemed like the world could finally say goodbye to that disease. We started vaccinating and curing the sick. Once everyone in my lanes were vaccinated, I asked my boss if I could go back home, he said yes. Once I came back home, I took one of the syringes I had with me and vaccinated myself. I felt a bit dizzy after, nothing anormal though. I went to my room and fell asleep.

*Bang*

There was a loud bang coming from outside. I checked what time it was, 21:37.

-Fuck, that's way too late.

I went to check outside, there was a car crash. I oppened the door and rushed to the car, trying to get the person out of it. As I oppened the car door, I've realised he was not breathing and, he also had no pulse... I took my phone oit and called the 911, right about when I was about to press the call button, he jumps out of the vehicule and tries to bite me. Right as when I could see the end, one of my neighbours comes out of the house with an hunting rifle and shoots it. Even though it was an amazing shot in the heart, it still managed to run away in a loud screech.

-Are you ok?

I went back inside to go check the news.

As she was about to finish it, she collapsed on the ground, some minutes later, she tried eating her whole crew. As I started getting scared, I went to the kitchen to grab a kinfe.

- Atleast I will feel safer with that.

So, before it got out of hands, I decided to go at the store. I see that alot of people also had the same idea. And not all of them are paying... I went inside to go get the essentials, food, water and seeds. I went to the check outs, there were no workers anymore, they all left. So I took my stuff and went to my car. While I was driving, I saw a huge group of infected coming out of multiple buildings. There was a kid outside, probably near 5 years old, he didn't seem to care about the infecteds, but them, they did care about him... Once one got the hand on him, they all started feasting on him. Once they were finished, all there was left were organs, a bit of his face and his bones, but he still managed to get up and walk. He now was one of them... We could hear sirens from far away. They were getting louder and louder, so I could guess they were coming. Once they turned the corner, I saw that it was police cars. Were we saved? They got out of their cars and shot the infecteds right in the head. They all collapsed to the floor, but will they stay dead? Only time would tell.

I drove back to my house, it was now 22:48, I checked the news again, they were almost all pre-recorded stuff. So I decided to close it and go to bed, I had troubles falling asleep because of the gore images of earlier going back and forth in my mind. Also, because I overslept a bit too much earlier. Around midnight, I finally managed to fall asleep...
