Mystic Falls, XI century

The sun went down and the festivities began. There was a big bonfire in the middle. There was food everywhere and people were drinking, dancing and having fun. Henrik, Kol and I stood by the trees watching everyone. The older brother managed to sneak one bottle of wine and the tree of us took turns drinking from it. We tries to hide it but we didn't really care if someone saw us.

"Ayana is really gonna kill me this time if she finds both of you drunk" said Kol and took one sip from the bottle.

I chuckled and looked at the people dancing around the bonfire. I also noticed that Elijah was standing on the other end, few meters away from us. He was staring at a beautiful brunette in a green dress. She was dancing with Niklaus. Seeing Elijah, the girl took off her mask and smiled at him. Suddenly Klaus grabbed her by the arm and spun her around toward him and kissed her. I was in shock. But she didn't return the kiss and pushed him away. Seeing this, Elijah left and Tatia fallowed soon after him. I felt sorry for him and I lunches forward at Niklaus ready to tell him off, but Kol stopped me.

"Don't do it. This is adult business. " said Kol and grabbed my wrist tightly. It hurt a bit and I flinched slightly

"Kol, let her go" Henrik raised his voice at Kol, trying to defend me

I pulled my hand from his grip and gave him a stern look.

"Calm down, little one." he said "This is their matter. Not your. Besides and Elijah will be fine, Tatia already followed him and with Niklaus you may talk tomorrow. After Ayana scolds me about getting you drunk."

I hate it when Kol is right. I calmed now and took a deep breath. Even though Kol is one of my best friends, I didn't feel like being in his company for any longer today and since I had to be part of the festivities till it's over, I'm going to enjoy the rest of the evening.

"Maybe you're right" I smiled trough my teeth at Kol and then turned to the younger brother "Henrik, will you dance with me?"

"How could I say no?" he smiled, took my hand and led me to the campfire where we danced the night away.

My heart fluttered and I felt butterflies in my stomach.
