Haunted by You

Chapter 1

Gracie's pov: It was another boring day in physics class, I admire the rain falling ever so slowly from the window I almost didn't notice my teacher staring at me from the front of the class as I was in my own world. "Earth to Gracie!" he called as I tune back into reality "yes sir?" I ask "Question four- the answer please" he asked whilst holding a piece of chalk. "Right- uh" I fumble as I look at my notes before going up, taking the chalk from his hand and write the answer on the blackboard. "Well done" he smiled at me as I took my seat next to my best friend who was snickering "uh- yes sir" she mocked "shut it." I chuckle, class ended shortly after that and I stood to gather my things to put in my bag. "So" my best friend started but got cut off by our teacher walking up. "So as per your request in your email last night Gracie" our teacher said as my best friend just looked between me and the teacher. "I have extra assignments to boost your grade that extra mile" he said as he placed it on my desk "thank you sir" I say with a soft smile which he returned, then walked back to his desk. "What was that about??" my best friend asked "Don't worry about it." I say quickly as I put the pages in my bag, "you were saying?" I said avoiding her curious eyes. "Right- uhm are we meeting up with the boys?" she asked referring to her boyfriend Colby and his friend Sam, "Only if they want to" I say as we leave the class room.

Bella and Colby have been together since Sophomore year, we're Seniors now and I honestly don't see them ending things anytime soon. Bella keeps insisting I get with Sam but in full honesty I don't seem him romantically... he is an amazing guy but he isn't my type. And what if things ended badly that would ruin our friend group. "Hey you two!" Colby says breaking my train of thought "hey Colbs... Sam" I say half smiling at them once they got closer. "You know we found this perfect abandoned building that's not far from our houses we think will be perfect for a video" Sam said. "I'm in" I say instantly "What time? I work till six tonight" Bella asked "8:30 to 9:00 is when we want to leave" Colby answered. "Sounds good" we all kind of aimlessly walked the halls for a bit before heading out for lunch. "Will it just be us?" I ask Sam "I uh was thinking of inviting our new friends Josh and Seth though they living a couple hours out of town" "Oh that's fine" I say smiling.

~Time Skip~

That evening was the first of many going to the abandoned warehouse the boys had found, Sam and Colby's friends Nate and Alex joined us because they also were there when the duo found the warehouse. Nate is a really sweet guy; he and I have gone on out a couple times since we've known each other but those were just friendly dates. "This place is freaky cool" says Nate as he balanced across on old metal beam. "I'll say" I say as I look around the room we were in while shining my flashlight. "So, when are those other guys getting here babe?" Bella asked Colby, "They should be arriving any minute" he said looking at his watch she nods, shortly after saying that we see a car pull up by ours down the road and two guys walk out, one with long brown hair and another with short blonde hair. They made their way to the building and greeted the guys. "Brothers you made it" Colby said "Of course man of course I wouldn't say no to a creepy building" the blonde on said, "Everyone this is Josh and Seth, guys this is Bella, Gracie, Nate and Alex" Sam said pointing to each on of us as he said our names. "Hi" I say shyly with a wave trying to be polite. The others also waved, "Keep your hands off this one though, she is feisty and she is mine" Colby said as he wrapped his arm around Bella. "Alright there is enough of us to split off into pairs if you guys want to check this place out on your own before we get started." Sam said "Start what?" I ask "Yeah I second that" said Seth "You'll see" Colby said ominously I scrunch my nose at that answer as it was one, I never liked, he would say that when he wanted to do something stupid or sketchy. "Lovely" I say sarcastically "Gray you and me?" asked Nate "I was going to go with Bella actually" I say as I look at my best friend who was already walking off with Colby. Great. "Oh no worries I'll go with Sam then" Nate said positively I just smile as I felt bad. Alex walked off with Josh making small talk. "So, its just us two then huh" Seth spoke "Yeah I guess so" I say trying to not come off as rude "Lets get a move on then" Seth said as he confidentially led the way in the unfamiliar building "Do you even know where you are going?" I ask "No" he said defeated as we found our selves in a creepy room. I chuckle he also laughs "So how long have you known Sam and Colby?" he asked trying to make conversation "Since Grade 9?" I say trying to think back "oh cool and how long have you been with that Nate guy?" "Oh, Nate and I aren't together" I say slightly taken back by the question "Oh I would've never thought especially by the way he looks at you" "What?" I say looking at Seth "Yeah, I thought you two were a couple" "huh" I say surprised "So you're single?" "Yeah" I say as we keep walking and see Bella and Colby walking hand in hand. "You, okay?" Seth asked "Oh yeah" I say with a sigh "What about them?" he asked referring to Bella and Colby "Since Grade 10" "Damn" "Yup- it's shocking actually I never thought Bella would be into Colby as much as she is... like no disrespect to her but she was never the one to like someone- or at least so I thought." A few minutes go by before Sam called us all to meet back to the main room "Sup man?" Colby asked "It's getting late and both the girls look like they may fall asleep on someone so I thought we should try out a Ouija Board" "What?" Bella says making her more alert "Yeah I don't think that's a good idea Sam" I say slightly uncomfortable, earning a sympathetic look from Seth. "Oh, c'mon please can we just try it" Sam said "You guys can I love you but this is one idea I don't feel comfortable with" I say putting my hands up and walking away and make my way to the roof access "And that's saying something" Bella said under her breath.

Shortly after leaving and sitting on the very unsafe roof I hear someone come up but I don't turn around "Nate I am fine just please go back to be with the guys" I say "I'm not Nate" Seth said causing me to turn to look at him "Oh sorry... I am used to Nate checking on me" "Understandable, but you, okay?" "I guess so? I just don't mess with Ouija boards and Sam knows that so I'm just a little pissed off about it" he nods as he listened "Care to explain why?" he asked. I told him my reasons which caused me to get slightly emotional and Seth saw that and wrapped his arm around me to comfort me which felt so nice, yet nerve wracking perhaps it was because we are on an old metal roof or he just is so new its scary. Either why it made me feel better. "Gray? Seth?" Colby called "It's late and Bella wants to go so does Josh" "Alright" I said loud enough for him to hear, Seth got up and held his hand out to help me up. His hand fit nicely with mine, "Do you want my number?" he asked as we made our way back to the friend group "sure" I say handing him my phone so he could put his number in it. "Till next time?" he said "Till next time" I say with a smile as I hugged him bye and gave Josh a half hug to not make it weird that I hugged Seth "Nice meeting you both" I said "Agreed" Seth said "Like wise" Josh said. With that we said our goodbyes as we got to our cars and drove our separate ways. Tonight was a fun one and I met someone new in the process so that is even better. "Thanks for checking on me :)" I texted Seth "Ofc! ^_^" He texted back making me smile as we finally pulled to my house. "Bye guys see you all tomorrow" I say getting out "Bye" Sam, Colby and Bella said in unison before driving off. I head inside and just go straight to bed and immediately fall asleep.
