(A/n; The scene about Mash at the beginning of the story and his entering the magic academy will be skipped. As we will be focusing on the...Current MC. I'm not gonna get into the main plot in the first chapter. Again, there are spoilers.)

"Should I add a cherry on top? Cherry always looks good on most desserts," a boy spoke to himself as he put the icing on a cake he had baked on his own. "I wonder how Mom, Dad, and sister are doing at home...I miss baking with them."
He hummed a familiar tune and made sure to smooth out the icing on the cake. He thought of giving some of his friends a piece of the cake, remembering that they do love his baked goods.

As he was peacefully doing his baking in the free-use kitchen, he heard a cracking noise.
He looked up to see the door to the kitchen was...It was gone. And someone was holding the door.

"Sorry. I didn't know whether to push or pull."

...What the hell?
Y/n blink, confused.
"Who are you?" He asked, almost squeezing a glob of icing on his perfect cake.

"Mash Burnedead."

Y/n realized that there was an entrance exam today, and since this guy seemed new, he figured he came from the entrance exam.

"Well, hello! Call me Y/n. What are you doing here?"
Mash seemed to notice the cake Y/n was decorating, and it was as if his face lit up.
Y/n noticed Mash staring at his cake and smiled, "Do you like baking too? Or do you just like cake?"

"I like cream puffs. I know how to make them."

"Really? That's cool, I like baking too. So are you here to make cream puffs?"

Mash nodded. Y/n just knows they're gonna be friends

-

Y/n folds his apron and puts it where it used to belong. He watched as Mash enjoyed the cream puff that they both made. And he greedily had another cream puff on his other hand, which made Y/n snicker,

"I wish pops could taste these cream puffs too," Mash seemed to mutter with a cream puff stuffed in his mouth.

'He loves them, huh,' Y/n didn't judge. Why would he? He gets it. He has a sweet tooth of his own too.

"I have to become the top student in this academy..." He heard Mash blurted out. Y/n tilts his head slightly, "You want to become the top? I see," he rests his cheek against the palm, watching as Mash eats.
"Why's that? You have a goal or something, kid?" He exclaimed playfully, trying to think of what sort of goal Mash might have.
Maybe Mash wants to have a baking career? Opening his cream puff bakery? Mash selling cream puffs doesn't sound too bad.

"I want to become a divine visionary so I could be able to live in peace with pops."

"Oh?" Y/n found himself surprised at what the boy said. Though he didn't seem to judge, instead, he chuckled, "That's a tough future you got. Because I aim to be one too!" Y/n grin, "Sounds like we both are going to fight to the top, yeah? You'll do your best, hm?"

"'Kay." Mash simply said.

After a bit, Mash got out of his apron and was ready to leave, though before leaving, Y/n saw Mash hiding a...cream puff in his robe while walking out of the kitchen.

'Isn't he interesting?' Y/n sweat.

---

Y/n was holding the last of a small box of a slice of cake that he made before, happily walking through the lonesome corridor trying to find someone he could give the last piece.

Thank the Gods he knows almost everyone in this school, or else who would eat his baked goods? His adoptive parents always tell him to share if it's too much.

He stopped in front of a giant door, he could think they might be busy right now, but he couldn't let this oh-so-precious slice of cake go to waste. He's tired of walking around trying to find people. At least...He could give it to one of them.

However, before he could knock on the door, a hand grabbed his wrist, he was startled at first but realized who it was,
"Abel?" He said with a smile.

"What are you doing here?" Abel whispered in a firm yet gentle tone, cradling the doll in his arm.
Y/n immediately showed the piece of cake, "I made a cake, and this is the last piece! I thought of giving it to one of the Mafia Lupus. But since you're here-" he pushed the box towards Abel, "take it, please? If you don't want to eat it, give it to the other guys if you want."

Abel stared at the piece of cake for a moment before taking it from Y/n, their fingers brushed against each other's, "Thank you." He muttered.

"You're welcome! I'll get going now," Y/n waved and walked away.

Abel watched as Y/n's figure disappeared as he went far. He looked down at the cake,

'Maybe one day.'

The next chapter will focus more on the main plot. I guess. I hope.)
