The Darkness from Within

Chapter Two

"Rani. What is going on?" Kion confronted her, his brown eyes glowing with fury. He lifted his jaw, showing his teeth. He was serious.

"Ugh! Nothing. I.." Rani mumbled, turning away from her husband. She unsheathed her claws in anger and took a deep breath. "I'm...pregnant." Maybe if she convinced Kion she was bearing his cubs, he would leave her alone.
"WHAT?! That's..great news!" he yowled, running up to her and rubbing his mane against her body. Rani rolled her eyes at this and backed away in disgust. 

After months of this treatment, Rani is heavily pregnant and panting heavily. Kion is very careful around the snappy Queen. He always orders the Night Pride to keep a close eye on her, but not to say anything about his orders. 
One night, she screams in pain and Kion comes running. "Rani?? What's wrong?!" he screams.

She looks up, all the hatred in her heart forgotten. "I'm giving birth!" she screamed at him, laying down in a position to easily give birth. As time passed, she gave birth to two daughters and a son. The son was identical to Kito, but how would Kion know that? She just made an excuse, and that her father looked like him. The two daughters were identical, with brown fur, freckles, a red-and-white tail-tip, and blue eyes. 

"Oh my love, they're beautiful!" exclaimed Kion, purring against the son. "His name must be Bakari."
Rani rolled her eyes but smiled. "Yeah..and our princesses shall be named Adila and Afiya."
