Kion turned the corner from outside the cave where his wife and three children spent most of their time. His children were now a year old and becoming more and more independent.
Adila and Afiya would spend a lot of time in the meadow giggling with each other over a crowd of rogues who would frequently pass by their pride. He knew their names. They were named Kondo, Kari, Jabori, and Zuberi. They were harmless, but he didn't appreciate his girls giggling over them.
"Adila! Afiya! Get away from there. Help the other lionesses with the cubs, you will be old enough for cubs soon. Either that or go help your brother."
Adila and Afiya gave a last look at the lions and gave them a bright smile. They padded toward Kion, rolling their eyes.
"Daddyyy! They aren't going to cause any harm, you know that!" Adila pleaded.
They twirled around their father, pleading with him.
"Besides, Bakari is so weird.." Afiya pitched in, scrunching her nose.
He watched their blue eyes pleading at him. "I know how you feel about those rogues, and I do not like it. Go to the other lionesses, NOW."
