"But how did you imagine it?"
Catherine demanded as she
ran after Marley. "Oh, that's very simple. We just need to post the
registration list on the bulletin
board and then hold
auditions," Marley explained,
to which Catherine reminded
her "But we also need a teacher to
lead the new Glee Club." Marley confirmed to her that Mr. Williams would both hold the auditions and decide who would be there, and they
would be allowed to be there too. That same afternoon, Marley
set about printing out the Glee audition sign-up sheet and when she finally hung it up the next day, she could already see a few names there. Finally the big day arrived and Marley and Catherine sat in the auditorium with Mr Williams to listen to the participants one by one. The first participant on the list was Owen Carpenter, who performed the song My Life by Billy Joel. After he finished singing, Mr Williams thanked him and invited in the next person on the list, Maddy Campbell. She applied with the song Glad you came by The Wanted and after her it was the turn of the following students:

Noa Fernandez with Phoenix
by Olivia Holt

Amber Harper with Havana by
Camila Cabello

Kelly Prince with Super Trouper by ABBA

Jason Clarke with Treat You Better by Shawn Mendes

Bruce Taylor with I want it that way by the Backstreet Boys

Leo Cooper with Stitches by Shawn Mendes

Dylan Mercer with Live While We're Young by One Direction

When all the candidates were through, Mr. Williams set off with the list to decide, which is why it was now a matter of waiting!

The next day came the moment of truth: The list of members was posted and everyone who auditioned was there including Marley and Catherine. The first rehearsal was supposed to take place today, but there was still an
insignificant little thing called leadership missing. Marley let the day go by impatiently and when the last lesson was finally over, she and Catherine made their way to the auditorium, where the first meeting was to take place and organizational
matters were to be discussed. When they entered the auditorium, the others were already there, which is why Marley spoke to them "Hi guys, nice to have you here. I'm Marley and I hope you're looking forward to a great time as much as we are". Owen replied "Glad Marley" and Amber said "I also want to hope our new glee club is a good one. I don't want to waste my time here". "I can promise you won't, Amber. We're going to have a good time" said Marley and suddenly Noa spoke up " Are you actually the bosses now? I didn't know that you auditioned. So how do you know what's going to happen if you skipped the audition?". Okay, Noa Fernandez was obviously temperamental, but
Marley had gained self- confidence through her friends during her time at McKinley and she didn't want to let that saying go. She went on stage and played the first notes of New York State of Mind. Then she began to sing:

Some folks like to get away
Take a holiday from the neighbourhood
Hop a flight to Miami Beach
Or to Hollywood
But I'm taking a Greyhound
On the Hudson River Line
I'm in a New York state of mind

As Marley sang, both Noa and
Catherine stared at her as if
they couldn't believe what
was happening.

It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
Don't care if it's Chinatown or up on Riverside
I don't have any reasons
I've left them all behind
I'm in a New York state of mind

Finally the song ended and all
the members applauded
except Noa. As Marley climbed off the stage, Dylan tapped Noa on
the shoulder and said "So? Still think she shirked?". Noa finally plucked up the courage and admitted to Marley "Wow, that was really good!
You obviously didn't cheat your way through". Marley accepted this and
labeled her behavior as proud and Spanish. Afterwards they all sat down and Maddy got to the point "So now we have our troupe complete" to which Owen added, "Except for one teacher who runs our club. Do you have any ideas about who might be eligible?". Everyone looked at each other perplexed until Bruce
finally said into the room "Imagine we can't find anyone. Then Mr. Williams would probably have to play the leader for us". As soon as that was said sentences like Don't, God forbid or He has no idea at all
came into the room. Of course, no one in the room trusted the director to be able to lead a choir, but that didn't have to be the case. "Okay, I think I speak for everyone here when I say that we can remove Mr. Williams from the list" Marley spoke up again and continued "But there has to be some teacher who is qualified to do it. Who is in question?". "How about Mr. Kingsley, the physics teacher?" Bruce suggested, but it failed because he wasn't really up to date on coolness or the interests of teenagers and he
too was left off the list. Ms. Green, the young new gym teacher, was also suggested, as was Mr. Cole, the chemistry teacher, and even though he admittedly looked pretty good, he wasn't particularly qualified either, as he was a complete bore and would therefore reduce their chances of success. "What are we going to do now?" Maddy wanted to know and Marley suggested just walking around the school to maybe find a teacher who could lead the Glee Club and help them succeed. The Glee Club was walking through the high school hallways together for a while and suddenly Marley heard something: A beautiful female voice that was probably busy letting out her feelings through the music in the music room. The others had noticed it too and finally Marley signaled to follow her, which is why the group headed straight for the music room.
