Gregor and The Prophecy of Hope

chapter 1 The Road Trip

Its been 10 years since Gregor left the underland, his mother never wants him to return. So obviously she is not happy about me going on this trip with my friends Chase and Eve, but she can't really say "oh sorry guys gregor can't go, because last time he was in New York he fell down a hole and almost got killed numerous times" yeah that would be hard to explain.

I am planning on leaving Chase and Eve a note when I get there, saying that I am going somewhere and not to follow me, then sneaking away to the underland. I will just have find the right time.

2 days later, in New York.

"Wow! It looks exactly the same!" I say, it really does, all the lights, the traffic, and the people. "Its beautiful! " Eve says, this is her first time out of virginia, so it's a pretty big deal for her. We go to the hotel to put away our luggage and there is a note on the bed with my name on it. It says "Dear Gregor, your mom told me you were coming back here for a few days, I would love if you paid me a visit. Love, Mrs, Cormaci." Oh how I missed Mrs, Cormaci, she always knew exactly what I needed when I needed it the most.
"What does the note say?" Chase asks walking over to me. "Oh its a note from my old neighbor, she wants us to visit her. Do you guys mind if we do that right now? Before we go to the park" I say "yeah sure! We have plenty of time for the park later" Eve says

We head over to the old apartment building, when we enter the building I see a roach, one of the small ones of course, and I shoo it away before Eve sees it, I know that she would squish it in a second. We take the stairs up to the floor Mrs Cormaci lives on and I knock lightly on the wood door. The door swings open almost immediately."Gregor! Boy have I missed having you around! " Mrs Cormaci says. "Hi! I have missed you too! By the way these are my friends from Virginia, Chase and Eve." I say gesturing to them when I say their names, they both say hi. "Nice to meet you, why dont you guys come in, I just made Lasagna" she says. "Oh we couldn't" we all say, "Gregor you know I wont take no for an answer" she says"okay okay I give in" I say, its not like it would be torture to eat some of her lasagna, because its delicious.

After we eat Mrs Cormaci asks to talk to me in private for a moment. We head into the other room. "Gregor, are you planning on going back down there? I want you to be honest, you know I support any desicion you make." She says quietly so that no one overhears. "Yes I am, I just have to find a way to get away from my friends, they dont know about the underland, other than a picture of me and Luxa they saw." I say there is no use in lying. " leave your escape to me" she says then walks away. That was weird, what is she planning? I walk back into the kitchen and mrs Cormaci has a basket of laundry in her arms. "Gregor could you take this down to the laundry room for me, those stairs are just killer on my knees you know. " she says and winks. I smile " of course, you helped me so much in the past, its the least I can do." I say, getting the hint that this is my escape.

"We can help to!" Chase and Eve say, "oh no, thats okay, Gregor is plenty capable, anyway I have some apple pie, that I need a second opinion on for a fundraiser. " she says, "oh ok" they say.

I head down to the laundry room.
