Outrun and Outlast

Chapter Two

 "What apartment number do we have again?"

Annaya looked over at Aspen, who was the one who had it on his phone. She was slightly scratchy as always but there was a very present tiredness in her voice. A deep chuckle came from a former asked male.

"Well if you remember the email I forwarded you, you would know its apartment 13." He said even though he knows that they never even opened it, or at least that Annaya didn't. He did see Nikko looking at it at the beginning of the flight. The icy blonde sighed at the tall man, but then a second later started to giggle. "What's so funny?"

"Oh just that Blade was talking about how unlucky the number 13 is, mostly in American culture." Aspen rolls his eyes at this, while Nikko giggles along with Annaya. Because of Annaya's quirk, she had two voices in her head. One of an angel and one of a devil. Blade being the devil.

They got up to the door and Aspen got the keys out of the mailbox. There were four keys in there, three on a keyring and one hidden under a false corner of the mailbox.

Aspen hands two of the keys to the girls and opens the door with the third one. The front entrance had an area for shoes with a basket of slippers for the teen. The first look of the house was amazing. The floors were a beautiful cherrywood, the walls were a nice cool slate color with hanging lights and plants.

The teens were in awe at the beauty of the house.

"Damn dad, you outdid yourself. How much did you put into this?" Aspen was in awe, but also worried about how much it was. The cherry wood traveled into the living room, as did the slate walls. The chairs and couch were a light gray with golden accents. The table was made of glass and metal. The living room looked like an Ikea showroom. There were pictures from all three families on the wall with a couple of bookshelves with the book choices of all three.

A couple of drawings and paintings from aspen were also visible. The technology there was also top notch. From the latest TV to the newest gaming system.

From the living room was the view of the kitchen for it was an open concept house. The kitchen kept the slightly darker theme but with more lighter accents. Having marble countertops and light gray cabinets. The fridge was a smart one with the tech to see into it and having a screen. The stove was the most recent one to come out and the sink was a double one with a smart tap.

The hallway was able to be seen from both the kitchen and living room. The walls being scattered with more pictures, most from their childhood. The hallway had four doors, three being bedrooms tailored to each person with their names on each door and a guest bathroom. Nikko looked over at the at awe Aspen and an impressed Annaya. She giggled to herself and skipped towards the room with her names painted on it with rose gold lettering.

Aspen quickly got out of his shock and followed Nikko to her room to see how his dad decorated it. To say his father went the extra mile would be an understatement. Nikko's room was beautiful.

Her walls were a very soft pink that could almost be a white, with an accent wall that looked like a mauve pink lace was placed over it. Against the accent wall was a queen sized bed with the framing being a plush white with what looked like padding. The bedding itself was of a soft pink, rose gold and white. The pillow comes out to a little less than one fourth of the bed.

The bedside table had the most shiny rose gold finish to it with three drawers making up it. The lamp on top was made of a white clay and cover. In the far corner you could see a desk that was made for a princess, honestly the whole room was made for one. With the desktop being made of glass with rose gold legs. The chair was the most soft and plush one you will ever see, it felt like you were on a cloud when sitting.
