Jayden POV :
I watch as Tony and Chris stomp out the fire. I look towards the horizon is the direction the hunters went as the sky turns a light yellow, the sun beginning to rise. I turn towards my pack.
"They aren't expecting us to just sit around, so we've lost the element of surprise. They know we're after them, and they'll be ready. But we have something they don't have," I pause, "A family. A team. We're stronger than they are."
"We can beat them, I just need to know you are all with me," I look at Chris, but he doesn't look back at me.
"I am," Autumn smiles at me.
"Hell yeah," Ryan shouts, a little too enthusiastically.
"Nice to see someone finally doing something around here," Tony grins, and I take that as a yes.
I look over to Chris, who still stares at the ground.
"If it means getting my sister back, I'm in. But let's be clear on one thing. You are not my alpha." He walks pass me, slamming his shoulder into mine. I growl, but let it slide.
I turn to face the direction the hunter had ran again, feeling my eyes fade to yellow.
"We're gonna save you, Rhi."
Then I'm gone.
Rhiannon POV :
I jolt awake, Jay's name escaping me. I look around, and I'm in some sort of cage or jail cell. I sit up on the hard bench I was lying on, and rake my hands through my hair. I look down, seeing I'm wearing some worn out skinny jeans and a black tank top. I stand up, walking to the cell door. There is a long hallway, thousands of empty cells lining the isle.
"Hey!" I snarl, shaking the door, "Let me the hell outta here you bastards!"
"They wont hear you," a female voice to my right makes me jump. I turn to see a girl around my age in the cell next to mine, sitting on her bench and starring at her nails. Her dark skin catches in the dim light, her black hair covering most of her face.
I walk over to the bars separating us.
"Who are you?"
"Alexis," she mutters, walking up to my cell. It doesn't look like she's eaten much recently, for her ribs show through her thin tank top. Her hazel eyes meet mine. " I was brought here, just like you. Torn away from my pack. I was an alpha, like you. But it's been years since then, doesn't matter much now, does it?"
"What have they done to you?" I look at her arms, almost seeing where the bones connect.
"Vigorous tests, using different serums. Dog fights, or I should say wolf fights, for testing strength and perseverance. Then they've used me for their... own personal pleasure..."
"Oh my god.." I whisper. "We have to get out of here."
"No use. They have this place locked tight. One way in, one way out."
Before I can say anything, the door at the end of the hall opens and a man walks in, carrying a tray of needles and serums.
"Good morning, mutts."
