Setting down my school bag,
I stretched my arms
and helped myself to a cup of water.
Chatters broke out at areas,
where visitors mingled with the patients.
Silence lingered at corners,
where patients lay solemnly on their beds.
An imaginary heavy load weighted down on my heart,
when I looked at those lonely patients.
The state of solitude
that they were trapped in.
Yuuki and I had undergone that experience,
and upon our first meeting,
we swore to one another
that we will always keep each other company
until death do us apart.
