As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the peculiar town of Gravity Falls, Dipper, Mabel, and Elara prepared to bid their farewells. The bus stop loomed ahead, a threshold between the cosmic mysteries of Gravity Falls and the familiar landscapes of Piedmont, California.

Before they embarked on their journey home, Elara felt a magnetic pull toward the Cipher statue—a silent sentinel that bore witness to the town's peculiar history. Standing before the statue, she traced a magical circle in the air, conjuring a cosmic flower with petals that shimmered with ethereal energy. It was a subtle farewell to the enigmatic being that had left an indelible mark on her cosmic journey.

Dipper, ever the inquisitive mind, couldn't resist asking, "What was that, Elara?"

Elara, a gentle smile on her face, replied, "Just a cosmic gesture. A flower for the weirdness that shaped our lives here."

Grunkle Stan pitched his two cents.

"Elara's right kids, even if Bill's gone, the weirdness is sure to carry on."

Ford added:

"If he's out there, we need to track him and all those who followed him down."

At that moment, Elara came to a bittersweet realization: if the pines would succeed in finding Bill's whereabouts; she had to stay.

"Look Pines," she began, "I know what I have to do, I'm going to stay here, in Gravity Falls, to help Grunkle Ford and Stan to track down the anomalies."

The Mystery Twins exchanged looks, realizing the bittersweet predicament.

"Elara, are you sure about this?"

She nodded.

"Dipper, I'm 100% sure," she affirmed," plus, I need more training using my powers."

Thus the Gravity Falls crew said their goodbyes on that very same day. Elara was eventually taken in by the Grunkles, as their adoptive niece, and they cared for her as one of their own. True to her words, Elara became a valuable ally on the many adventures of the famous Sea Grunks, occasionally on their free time, they'd video chat with the Mystery Twins, to tell them stories of their great escapades around the world, and that was the best part of their day. Elara felt like she belonged somewhere for the first time, and her title as "Mystery Magnet" shone through as a renowned apprentice and explorer.

However...

In the quiet and starry nights, Elara could often be seen stargazing alone, in the bow of the Stan'O'War II, quietly longing for a question that kept repeating: Where was Bill? Sometimes she would stare at the night sky, and talk to the stars for hours, hoping the stories of her adventures would reach the dream demon in some way, an action that sometimes led her to sleep outside her bunk, with her vest still on. Unbeknownst to her, that night,a Bill visited her, with a blanket he placed over her back, melancholic a song.

You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are gray
You'll never know, dear
How much I love you...
Please don't take...
My sunshine away...
