YONNI woke up with a sense of anticipation, feeling that the day was going to be quite good since it was a school day and she wouldn't have to be entirely alone.
however, tomorrow being friday and with no prom date or a dress in sight, yonni couldn't help but groan. she settled for a jumpsuit and paired it with some black forces.
after adorning herself with perfumes and jewelry, yonni styled her hair before heading out the door. "come on, let's go" se'kani said tiredly as he grabbed his keys.
yonni put on her headphones and selected drake's 'race my mind' to play. nodding her head to the music, she soon realized that they had arrived in front of the bustling harlem high school.
"alright, take care" kani waved goodbye as he watched yonni hurry inside with a head shake.

as yonni sat in class before lunch, she couldn't help but overhear whispers among her peers about a brutal argument between two women outside. intrigued, yonni spoke up, "do any of you know their names? or have a video?" a girl sitting at a table across from her promptly showed her a video on snapchat.
yonni let out an exasperated sigh and quickly gathered her things, clearly bothered by the situation. three boys noticed yonni's sudden annoyance, but she appeared genuinely furious. "hey yonni, where are you going?" ddot asked, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion. the three boys also stood up, sensing yonni's urgency. "i'm going to see why the hell my mom and auntie are arguing outside" yonni replied, visibly irritated.
