YONNI sat alone in her pristine white room, adorned with delicate pink decorations and an assortment of stuffed animals. it was all meticulously chosen with the help of her older brother, se'kani, who, to her surprise, didn't entirely despise her.
her residence was situated on the renowned sugarhill block, yet she had never come across the three boys or any other inhabitants of the neighborhood. she preferred the solace of her room, rarely venturing outside except for school.
she then heard a knock, looking up it was se'kani who approached yonni with news that prom was just a week away, to be held on friday.
he handed her some cash, which he had saved specifically for the occasion, cautioning her to stay safe. quick and to the point, he delivered his message.
"thank you, kani. i appreciate it for real" yonni expressed her gratitude as she rose from her seat, offering him a brief side hug before pocketing the money.
as her bedroom door swiftly closed behind her, she wasted no time in making her first phone call - her contact for her supply.
"hey, riot. can you drop off an ounce?" she requested, her voice low. there was a moment of silence before she heard the familiar deep voice on the other end.
"yeah, sure. it'll be $125, including the discount" riot responded. yonni couldn't help but smile at the familiar transaction and thanked riot before hanging up.
after showering and surrounding herself with the enchanting aroma of scented products, yonni carefully selected her outfit. she paired her black yoga pants with coordinating clothing and jewelry, creating a stylish ensemble for the upcoming day.
