"Mind if I take a bite, Briefs?"
Marron stood right before him, her hair tousled over her shoulder as she popped the food into her mouth. His eyes traced over the silky white fabric that clung to her body like a glove. She watched as his eyes lifted from her waist to her eyes.
"W-What?!" Trunks exclaimed with a breathy laugh, laced in disbelief as he pushed the seat back and stood up. "Marron what the hell," he chuckled in amusement as his arms instinctively wrapped around her holding her just a bit tighter in his arms, as if he let go she'd slip out of his grasp yet again.
Something he almost dreaded could happen again.
Marron felt herself pull herself back up from her own emotions. Trunks was happy to see her again. "What are you doing here?" Trunks asked, unable to contain his grin.
Marron smiled, his hands still rested on her waist, and as much as she knew he should have let go, she couldn't help but let him stay right there. "I got a tip from a certain someone that you needed saving from a certain date," Marron's voice was laced in delight, as she tilted her head, watching Trunks in amusement, "but I guess you managed to scare her off on your own."
"Oh–that..." Trunks blushed as he realized Yoguri probably crossed paths with Marron. Even if Marron and him weren't in any type of capacity together– he couldn't help but feel he was caught in the wrong. "I wasn't–"
"It's okay," Marron smiled, as she grabbed the wine glass from his side of the table, leaning her hip against the white table linen. "So," she began, aerating the wine in the glass. "Do you really want to be stuffed up in this place, Briefs?" she pressed as she sipped.
Trunks leaned closer, an impish grin mirroring Marron's as he drank her appearance in at any and every given moment he had. "Got something else in mind?" He asked.
Marron smirked, it really was like she never left. "Do you wanna take a walk?"
Trunks tilted his head as he motioned out the door, "Lead the way."
As the two walked out of the restaurant, Trunks couldn't help but press the important question that had been on his mind in particular. "So..what the hell were you up to?" He asked. The truth is he was worried someone laid claim to Marron's heart in his absence
"Traveling, getting inspiration outside of West City," Marron mused, as she brushed her hair behind her shoulder, glancing up to the glistening city lights.
"Oh what, this place is too corporate for you or you got a dirty secret?" Trunks snickered, feeling somewhat relieved she hadn't mentioned a man.
Marron scoffed as she shook her head. "No, that's not it...I just need to get new inspiration," Marron replied, smacking Trunks' arm playfully.
He watched her carefully, there was information being withheld. "Was that really all it was?" Trunks asked, knowing full well that Marron knew what he was asking of her.
Marron sighed out, as she held her gaze low. "I mean, I needed to have some time away from everyone," Marron let out a heavy sigh, "you should know that more than anyone else."
"Right," Trunks said as he stuffed his hands into his pockets. "Well?"
"I think I have it all figured out now," Marron replied, before she stumbled on a sidewalk crack, catching Trunks' arm before she fell.
Trunks eyed the ground to find Marron in some very tall heels. "How are you even walking in those stilts," He joked as he helped the woman regain her balance.
Marron threw her nose up in the air as she brushed off the embarrassing moment. "It's a skill all of us short women have," Marron teased, "you wouldn't know that though."
