Detective Philip returned to Jesse's place, finding the baby wide awake, the clock ticking toward 4. The lead on Akua's whereabouts pointed to the Bono region. Philip, eager to gather more information, attempted to obtain Akua's phone number, only to discover that she had severed ties with everyone.

Akua's mother, troubled by the situation, revealed that her brother had called from Bono Region, disclosing Akua's location. The detective, sensing a connection between Akua's sudden disappearance and her boyfriend's death, decided to travel early the next morning to track her down, suspecting she might hold crucial clues or, perhaps, be involved in the mysterious death.

"Okay, we're here. You need to go to your brother now," Detective Philip gently spoke to the baby in his arms, who clung tightly to him. They stepped out of the car, standing in front of Jesse's home. Maame U, aware of their arrival, greeted the detective with a respectful bow.

Jesse, catching his mother's gaze, focused on the packaging in his hands, offered a warm smile, and handed it to her. He headed straight to his room, exchanging a brief, meaningful glance with the detective before disappearing behind the door.

Detective Philip exchanged some pleasantries with Maame U and gave Baby Ama to her before he left.

The following day, Detective Philip adorned himself in a black pair of trousers paired with a casual black shirt. Before departing, he decided to check in on Yaw.

Meanwhile, Yaw engrossed in stroking himself in the shower as he watched a picture of Detective Philip, which he secretly took, found himself on the brink of ecstasy. His moment of climax, however, was abruptly interrupted by a knock on his door, accompanied by the utterance of his name in a tone that sent shivers down his spine.

"Yaw," the caller's voice resonated, causing an involuntary moan to escape from Yaw's lips. Panicking, he quickly silenced himself, hoping the shower's noise masked his indiscretion. Closing the shower abruptly, Yaw dressed hastily, opening the door to find Detective Philip standing there, impeccably attired.

He cautiously opened the door to find Detective Philip standing there, impeccably dressed.

"Are we going somewhere this morning, sir?" Yaw managed to ask, his demeanour attempting to conceal the recent interruption.

Detective Philip, who had been observant since Yaw opened the door, shook his head. "I want you to handle the Thomas case in my absence. This will be your second assignment. Do whatever it takes to get them talking. I'm handling another aspect of it. I've left one of my cards on the dining table; familiarize yourself with it until I come back." His instructions were delivered with a sense of authority, leaving Yaw with a renewed task and a sense of anticipation for Detective Philip's return.

Detective Philip, having booked a flight to Sunyani for their journey to the Bono Region, attempted to contact Jesse earlier in the morning, but his call went unanswered. Deciding not to disturb Maame U with an early call, he opted to send Jesse a message, hoping he would comprehend it when he woke up.

The detective didn't want to embark on this mission alone, preferring Jesse's company. There was a certain ease and comfort in their partnership that made the investigation more manageable. If Jesse had seen the message, he might be waiting at the airport, ready to accompany him. On the other hand, if Jesse hadn't checked the message yet, Detective Philip would navigate the journey alone. It could also be that Jesse would deliberately choose to ignore his message.

As Detective Philip approached the airport, his phone vibrated in his pocket. Retrieving it, he discovered a message from Jesse: "Where are you? I'm at the airport." An unexpected surge of happiness and an indescribable emotion washed over Detective Philip. Hurriedly parking his car, he called for a driver to take care of it.

Scanning the area, he spotted Jesse standing a little distance away, seemingly lost in his world, kicking his leg with a gaze fixed on the ground. Unbeknownst to Detective Philip, a genuine and warm smile formed on his face, captivated by the endearing sight of Jesse's playful demeanour.

Jesse engrossed in his leg-kicking distraction, was oblivious to the approaching detective. Detective Philip couldn't resist the urge to walk over, drawn by an unseen force. At that moment, Jesse, as if sensing the gaze upon him, lifted his head, locking eyes with the detective.

The air seemed to shimmer with unspoken emotions. Detective Philip's heart echoed with a mix of joy and an inexplicable connection that seemed to transcend the confines of their current mission.

"I thought you wouldn't come," Detective Philip remarked as he closed the distance between them.

Jesse, in his usual soft voice, questioned, "Why did you think that?" His gaze was fixed on the ground, seemingly lost in his thoughts.

Detective Philip chuckled, deciding to let the comment slide. "Let's go; our flight will take off soon."

As they walked towards their departure gate, Detective Philip attempted to engage Jesse in conversation. "Have you ever been on a plane before?"

Jesse glanced at him briefly before redirecting his gaze to the ground, offering no response.
