NOW

Hi, my name is Bella Allen. You don't know me, but I'm pretty sure you know my big brother Barry Allen, or should I refer to him as the Flash? Yeah, my big brother was the guy who got struck by lightning and became the fastest man alive.

You might think, "Wow, that's so cool! Your brother is the Flash," but I can tell you that not everything is a great adventure or a happy ending. For my brother, things took a turn for the worse when what he thought was his friend, Dr. Wells, turned his back on him and nearly killed the biggest hero that Central City had ever had - my brother. I have never told anyone about what happened that night, not even Barry. He doesn't remember much about what Dr. Wells did to him, and I want it to stay that way. He's been through too much already, and I don't want to subject him to more trauma.

I don't know where to start because it feels weird to talk about, but it's important for me to tell what I experienced. In the end, I may finally have the courage to let Barry know.

Let's start with the beginning.

THEN

It was a typical Monday. I was home alone, and Barry was working late, which wasn't uncommon for him. Barry is a Forensic scientist at the Central City Police Department, which means he helps the police collect and analyze evidence from crime scenes. Barry usually worked from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., but when he was done with work for the day, he would spend a couple of hours at S.T.A.R LAB with his friends. So, on the days when he wasn't home when I got home from school, I would text him to hear if he was gonna be home for dinner or if I needed to figure something out myself. On this particular Monday, he wouldn't be home at dinner time, so I needed to figure out what I would eat. I walked out to the kitchen to determine what was available in the fridge. I decided to make something simple; the refrigerator was almost empty, and I wasn't about to leave the house and go out in the stormy weather. I made my favorite sandwich; turkey, cheese, salad, tomatoes, and mayo.

It took a few minutes to make the sandwich, mainly because when I went to get a knife from the drawer, they were all dirty. I looked at them and contemplated whether I should clean one or get creative. Instead of spending the few seconds it would have taken to clear the knife, I spread the mayo with a spoon. It might not have been rational, but I was too tired to clean up the mess. I entered the living room with my sandwich on a plate and immediately jumped onto the couch. My feet were incredibly sore after walking, so I was excited about finally laying on the couch. I grabbed the remote controller and started scrolling through the channels on the TV. Nothing caught my attention, so I went on Netflix to find a show to watch. Titans! was currently my favorite show, and without hesitation, I hit the remote control, and the show started. I ate my sandwich pretty fast because I was starving; I didn't get a lot of lunch because - you know, people can be assholes. After eating, I lay on the couch to relax briefly but didn't realize I had fallen asleep.

A few hours must have passed because I woke up to the front door opening and closing, followed by Barry couching. I sat up and looked around in confusion. What time was it? It was almost 11:00 pm. After some time, he entered the living room and took his jacket off while looking for me. A smile formed from one ear to the other when he found me and realized that I had been asleep and had just woken up.

"Hey, Sleepyhead." I didn't say anything because I wasn't fully awake yet. He just smiled at me and sat down on the couch as well. He gave me the biggest hug and cuddled beside me while holding me tight. We didn't say anything for a few minutes, but when I finally woke up, I asked him how his day had been, and he had a lot of things to tell me."We discovered today that there are more Meta-Humans out there than we thought." I looked at him, and I think he could sense that I was getting kinda scared because he quickly tried to reassure me by saying, "Dr. Wells doesn't want me to fight with them unless it's our last thing to do." The second he said it, and I didn't doubt it, Barry really wanted to fight these meta-humans, and it was killing him that he wasn't allowed to do it. In my opinion, it was the best thing that Dr. Wells had decided because Barry didn't even know enough about his powers, even though it was almost three years since he got struck by lightning. So, how was he supposed to fight other people with different abilities and powers?
