Four thuds sounded through the door pulling the artist out of her peaceful slumber.

"Olivia! Put an pep in your step! We're due on stage in bout twenty minutes!"

Tony shouted into the trailer.

"I'm up! I'm up! I'll be out there!"

She slipped out of bed, attempting to put on her face. Makeup wasn't the norm for her but after witnessing photos from the third show where she wore none, she promised herself to never perform looking that way again. Spencer and her stayed up til about six in the morning, talking, and making out. She underestimated the attraction she felt towards him because it was damn near impossible to keep her hands to herself. Napping during the day was unsuccessful with her thoughts consumed by this fine specimen of an man. Her stomach was in knots thinking of his presence being front and center at the show this evening. She tethered between elation and trepidation everytime it crossed her mind.

"Olivia! Get decent cuz im coming thru!"

Patience announced herself.

Patience was an angel sent from heaven. Force to be reckoned with and at times, very intimidating, and Olivia's biggest supporter. She was in LA, scouting for talent and checking on one of her other clients set for an show. The speakeasy where she heard Olivia's vocals had been the first stop of many during that trip. After her mini performance, they met and conversed over drinks for an few hours. She was signed to her an week later. Patience is known for managing some of the biggest R&B music singers and is very popular amongst the music industry. Best part of being signed to her was the freedom to trying out new things if the original plan didn't pan out the way Olivia wanted it to.

"Hey, Pay"

Olivia answered, straightening the pattern on her eye from the liner, darkening it as an effort to make it noticeable.

"You don't got time for an relationship"

She enters getting straight to the point of her visit.

"Oh! Well hello to you too"

Olivia tossed the eyeliner to the side moving to dab concealer under her eyes efficiently but also quickly.

"You're not hearin me. You can't be over here gettin side-tracked by some no-good but probably handsome man"

Olivia glanced her way, taking in those words.

"I don't know what you mean"

"As your manager, it's my job to know about everything concerning you and I know all there is to know about Spencer James. You're so close to being the female version of Cameron. You have to stay focused. Guys like that serve nothing but sexy distractions and you need to keep your eye on the music your creatin"

"Ion know what your weed's laced with, but I'm just gone pretend I didn't hear that"

She replied going back to the task of makeup. Patience's annoyance settles as she released an deep sigh.

"You need to listen to me, I've seen this story too many times. City-girl makes it big and is brought home by the man that made her give it all up. The home is where the heart is speech, and it's never true. Out there on that stage, that's where you belong-"Turning and pointing toward the venue- "the center of things with the light shining down on just you. I'm tellin you baby girl, you can't go falling for the small town boy from home. He's gonna alter your hopes and dreams and drag you along for his own"

Indignation swells up inside her being as her last words are said. Spencer wasn't like that. Putting aside their lengthy friendship, talking to him the night before showed he could never be that person. Spencer most of his life sacrificing himself for the sake of other people he loved. Call it an hero-complex, endearing, and frustrating at the same time. Even if he were to ask that of her, they were just friends, they weren't going steady. Letting her initial anger dwindle, she found Patience's request comical. Amusement took over as sounds of laughter fell from her lips.
