Since that night, Haleigh couldn't get what happened between her and Nathan out of her head. Nathan keeps staring at her, but she doesn't know what to say. He didn't leave her in bed like she thought, but they were back to how things were. Avoiding one another.

After the game, Nathan saw Haleigh walking in her cheer uniform. "Stop the bus, Sean!"

Sean broke from the kiss to stop. Nathan got off the bus and picked Haleigh up. "Put me down!"

"Nope. We need to talk." He says as he carried her on the bus and to the back.

"Just get together." The cheerleader that was making out with Sean told them.

Haleigh looked at her with a look that caused her to laugh. Reaching the back, Nathan sat down with the blonde in his lap. She noticed hardly anyone was in the back. A hand turned her just to be kissed. She turned completely around and straddled him. Putting his hand under her skirt, Haleigh moaned as she grabbed at his shorts. Standing up a little, Nathan pulled his shorts down so he can have Haleigh again.

Haley saw Haleigh. "Hey, how pissed was your mom?"

Haley went to say something, but Haleigh walked away. She saw Nathan watching her cousin and decided to speak. "Nathan, if you truly love her. Save her. You were there when her father died, be there to save her from her mother."

"I will." Nathan says. "Where is she going?"

"Tutor."

Nathan ran after her as Peyton walked over to Brooke. "They need to get together. They're having sex, but aren't dating. We need to help them."

Walking into the tutor room, Nathan looked at her. "What happened?" He asked as she looked at him.

Haleigh didn't say a word as she walked over and kissed him. Nathan kissed her back, but pulled away. "Mom."

"She's changed after your dad passed."

"Can we not talk about that? I just want you to hold me."

Nathan pulled her into his arms as she cried. "I'm calling them. You can't go home to where she is hitting you."

"Where will I stay? Haley doesn't have room."

"Stay with me. Dad loves you like a daughter and we can do what we have been doing."

"You hate me."

"No I don't, never did. You hate me."

Haleigh looked at him. "It's kind of hard to when you've been showing me things that I was never shown before."

"Let's figure out why we hate each other."

When she got home, Haleigh went straight to her room to start packing. She was hoping and praying that her mother didn't come home because she was leaving and was never coming back. "Haleigh!"

"Shit."

Grabbing what she can, the blonde ran out, just to stop. "Where do you think you are going?" She asked. "Your aunt and uncle doesn't have room and no one wants a slut..."

"I'm not a slut. You have to sleep with a ton of men to be called a slut. Like you." She says. "I'm only having sex with Nathan."

Her mother attacked her causing her to scream out. They fought with each other. Haleigh wasn't going to put up with the abuse, that was till someone walked in. "Freeze!" They heard, but Haleigh's mother kept hitting.

Haleigh kicked her mother off her and ran to Nathan who stood with his father. He held her close as she cried. "It's okay." He tells her. "It's all over. You're safe."

"Don't let me go."

Dan put his hand on Haleigh. "Let's get you home and get you cleaned up, Haleigh."

Nathan picked her up and carried her to the car. "Thank you, Mr. Scott."

"Dan. Call me Dan, Haleigh. You've known me for sometime now." He tells her. "You're safe with us."

Nodding, Haleigh rested her head on Nathan's chest as they left. The only scene she will always remember is her mother getting taken away in handcuffs.

At the Scotts, Dan went to make sure Haleigh got everything as Nathan stayed with her. She looked at him and walked over to him. Nathan looked at her as she kissed him. He smiled into the kiss till she pulled back. They looked at each other before Nathan pulled her into a hug. She started crying causing Nathan to keep her in his arms.

Haleigh felt herself getting picked up and carried her to the bed. She looked at him before kissing him again. She wanted what they've been doing to be real, even if they don't know where they stand. Nathan laid her on his bed. "Tonight, we're not having sex. Tonight, you are going to rest up."

"Thank you." She tells him as she laid her head on his chest.
