Ready or Not - Ziall

This would be part 1 of the 2 part Ziall wedding shot I planned on writing but haven't had time to.  It's quite short.

Ready or Not - Ziall

"Sweetie?"

"Yes, mum?"

"Are you okay?" Maura asked her son.

She'd never tell him, but she wasn't quite sure of this. They were too young, too blinded by their love to think through this clearly. Something like this wasn't simple like they believed. They weren't ready for this.

Niall wasn't ready for this.

The man in question turned around from looking at himself in the mirror, a grin on his face. "Of course I am, mum. Why wouldn't I be?" He turned back around to look at the pristine white suit he was wearing. "I'm getting married to Zayn." The whisper was soft, almost inaudible, but Maura heard it.

She heard the love in it and winced. She took a step toward him, hand outstretched as if to pull him to her. "Don't you think you two are moving too fast? You're too young for this, both of you."

 Niall turned around, wide-eyed, and frowned. "Mum, we love each other. We both want this."

"I'm just saying that - "

"I don't care what you say!" Niall yelled, not believing that his own mother was trying to talk him out of his own wedding. And with the big day, less than a week away - he didn't need it. He had made up his mind, and he was getting married. 

His eyes looked past her, and a soft smile played on his lips as Zayn's face appeared in his mind.

"I love him."

Maura knew he wasn't looking at her anymore. No, he was seeing someone else; Zayn.

She knew she wouldn't be able to get to him. However, she hoped he'd see reason soon enough before it was too late.

Her heart clenched. Her baby boy was getting married. But. . . he wasn't ready for it.
