Alex stepped out of her tent, and took some pictures of the nature around her.
"Do you have any idea where you're going?" A voice yelled.
"Just up. I'm still not getting a signal." Another voice responded.
"Maybe we won't get a signal. What then? What if we can't call anyone? What if nobody finds us?" A third voice added.
"We'll have to draw straws and decide which one of us the others will eat."
"That's not funny."
"I'm relieving the tension."
"You're making it worse."
"Come on!"
Three girls crossed paths with Alex, shocked.
"Um- hi. You seem lost." Alex stated. "Need help?"
"Yes! We can't get a signal!" One of the girls said. "I'm Emma. This is cleo."
The brunette waved shyly. "Hi."
"I'm Rikki." The other blonde said.
"I'm Alex."
"Why are you on Mako Island?" Emma asked.
"Something for science class. I said I wanted to explore the ecosystem of the island. My boyfriend dropped me off last night, and I stayed the night out here. You can probably get better signal closer to the top of the volcano." Alex explained.
"Okay. Let's go then." Emma said, continuing her walk.
The girls came out onto a rocky area above a river.
"Mind your step."
Emma leapt over to another rock. Alex and Rikki followed.
"I can't do this. It's too slippery. There's got to be another way." Cleo wobbled a bit, and then screamed as she slipped and fell down a hole.
"Cleo! Cleo!" Emma yelled.
Alex, Emma and Rikki jumped back over and looked down the hole.
"Cleo? Cleo!"
"I'm okay, I'm fine." Cleo called up.
"Can you climb up?" Alex asked.
"No."
"Are you sure? Come on, just try!" Rikki said.
"I can't! There's no way. It's too steep." Cleo replied.
"I've got to go down and get her." Emma said.
"Are you crazy? It doesn't make sense if you-" Rikki began.
Emma fell down the hole. She screamed as she went.
Alex looked down the hole, to see if she could get a better look, and slipped, rolling down.
"What are you doing down here?" Emma yelled.
"I slipped!" Alex replied. "I didn't meant too."
Rikki joined them at the bottom of the tunnel. "Woah!"
"What are you doing here?" Emma asked.
"Well, you three came down." Rikki stated.
"You two were meant to stay up on top and throw down a rope or something." Emma explained.
"What am I, a mind-reader? And what rope?" Rikki said.
"Shouldn't we concentrate on getting out of here?" Cleo asked.
"Yep." Emma replied.
"There's no way out." Alex stated.
"Let's try here." Emma suggested.
