The two of you walked a bit more, as the night got colder.
"Holy shit!" You practically jumped.
"What? Are you ok?" Heeseung asked frantically.
"Yeah it's just, that's the bridge where..." You trailed off, looking at the wooden structure. It crossed a stream that ran through the park.
"Oh my god. I can't believe you remember that." He laughed, shaking his head.
"There's no way I'd forget where you asked me out. That was our first kiss too." You smiled widely, remembering the moment like it was yesterday.
Heeseung had been avoiding you that whole day, then you got this cryptic text to meet you at the bridge. You usually didn't meet there so you were pretty confused. When you arrived he was waiting, leaning against the railing. You could see him picking the petals off a red rose while humming softly. The two of you got to talking and that's when he confessed, asking you to be his girlfriend. Of course you agreed because the two of you had grown so close. He caressed your face, then leaned it to take your first kiss. The details were so clear, it made you giggle.
"What are you laughing about over there?" He asked, as the two of you made your way to the bridge.
"I was just thinking back to that day. Man, we were so young then. I miss it." You grinned widely.
His face turned slightly red, "I was so nervous I just knew I had to get out everything right then and there or I never would have."
"Seriously? You seemed so confident at the time though." You questioned the man.
"I was shitting bricks. If I had screwed that up, I would have regretted it for my whole life." You both laughed at his statement.
"Aw come on, was I that good?" You raised your eyebrows playfully, causing him to softly punch your arm.
"Not a chance." He showed you a big smile.
You missed this. Well, more like you missed him. You had been friends even before you dated and you missed that connection. Talking to him now, like nothing has changed, made you realize how much you liked having him in your life.
"I'm glad we did this, seriously. I missed your stupidness." You walked across the bride, leaving the man a few steps behind you. Holding the tears in was so hard but you managed to conceal all these pent up feelings.
"How could you not miss me? I'm amazing." You could practically feel his smile burning a hole in your back.
You whispered, "Cheeky little bastard."
"I heard that." He responded close to your ear. You turned, realizing how close he had gotten to you.
"Shut up." You stuck your tongue out at the man. He stuck his own out, pointing it right back at you. "Hey, it's pretty late. I'm sure you're busy tomorrow right?" You asked.
"I have dance practice in the morning but the rest of my day is free. Did you want to grab lunch?" He walked ahead, turning around right in front of you.
"Are you sure?" You asked, looking up at him.
"Of course, I wouldn't have asked otherwise." His words made you feel so reassured.
"Let's do it then. How about we go to that arcade too? I can waste your ass on every game." He gasped at your words.
"I'm way better now. No way you can beat me." He shrugged.
"We'll just have to see then." You smirked, laughing as you walked.
With that, the two of you went towards the main road on the other side of the park. He insisted his driver take you home, since it was "on the way". The drive was silent but not an uncomfortable silence.
When you arrived at your apartment, you finally spoke, "What are you going to do now that you know where I live?" He seemed shocked at your words.
"How'd you know that was my plan all along?" He laughed softly.
"Intuition?" You replied as you got out of the car.
"You always were oddly intuitive." His smile was so cute.
"Why thank you." You giggled. "Bye Heeseung."
"Bye." And with that, the door shut and he was gone. You made your way inside the large building. The elevator ride to the 3rd floor felt oddly long as you listened to the soft music inside it play. Finally, you made it inside, setting your purse on the table. Throwing your shoes off as soon as you got to your bed.
Fuck. That brought back so much. Your pillow felt so soft as you buried your face into it. After that bombshell, you were practically on the verge of tears that whole time. His fucking phone got stolen? What in the hell? It almost felt made up, but the way he told the story was so genuine. All of that fucking heartache and time lost because of something so stupid. It really put a lot of things into perspective.
He was your first love. You were moved on from him, well at least you thought you were. Seeing him made it all come back and as much as you wanted to hold on to that feeling, it was impossible now. Hes an idol. That's the reality of it all. Having a crush on someone unattainable, was never going to work. You're a big girl, you can get over this. Crying over something so little was stupid right? Still, you couldn't hold them back.
Tomorrow was a new day. At least that's what you thought as you hugged your pillow, falling asleep in its embrace.
