An Avenger?

Alex's POV:

As I was making my way towards Fury's office I bumped into another shield agent causing him to drop all his papers. He mumbled a few words before looking up at me. "I apologize I wasn't paying attention, let me help" I said picking up some papers and handing them to him. "It's okay and thanks" he replied giving me a smile. "No problem, so why haven't I seen you around here before?" I asked curious with my hands on my hips. "Oh uh I just started." he said clearing his throat. "Got to go bye" he said rushing away from me and down the hallway. Odd.

Shrugging it off I made my way to Fury's office and walked in sitting down. "What's up Fury" I asked. I'm the only one that is probably aloud to say that to him when they walk in. Going further into that he is like an uncle to me. He's always cared for me when my dad wasn't always there. "This is serious Alex, I need to ask you something important." he said straightening up. "Shoot." "Well as you know you are very well trained agent and have powers." he said looking at me. I nodded for him to go on. "Well I wanted to know if you would like to join the Avengers." he asked. I thought about it for a second then came to the conclusion that it's to help people and if I can do that then I'm in.

"I'm in." I replied smiling. He smiled back, "Now I know you're pretty good at hand to hand combat but I'm going to have Steve Rogers also known as-" I cut him off "Captain America, we've met" smiling I said. "As I was saying he will be seeing what you can do and helping you on what you need. Training starts now I'll call him down to meet you in the training room." I nodded and started to walk out.

"Oh yeah and I see the way cap looked at you when you guys met, no getting touchy feely during training" he replied with a slight smirk. I rolled my eyes and walked out making my way to the training room.

Once I got there no one was in there so I grabbed some tape and put them around my hands and started punching the punching bag getting warmed up. I thought of something that I wanted to try so I did. I froze the bag and then punched it with all I could. The bag shattered into little pieces of ice everywhere. I smiled at my work and tried to pick up another bag but couldn't. Damn I can break one but can't pick it up?

I felt a hand go over my hand and pick it up for me. "I see you need some help with that." a voice said. I looked up and saw Steve. I smiled and chuckled a bit. "Surprisingly yes, I can break one but can't lift it up." I replied looking at him and laughing again. He chuckled too "I saw that, but don't worry you'll get there." he replied.

"So what are we doing today Cap?" I asked punching it again. He grabbed my waist and positioned it to how I should be standing. I felt butterflies in my stomach, what? "We'll work on this for now." he said. "You're not going to win like that, make sure you have one foot in front of you and one behind." I nodded and did what he said. "Now punch." he said. I started punching and a minute later it came off the hook and broke.

I crossed my arms smirking proud of myself. "There you go." he said looking at me smiling. Did I ever mention how cute his smile was? I never even realized what he was wearing either. He had on a white tank top and black shorts. When he gets sweaty I'm in for a show then. I pushed my thoughts away "Thanks for the tip Cap, what's next?" I asked taking the tape off my hands and getting a drink of water.

"Well I would like to see what you can do with your powers if you don't mind Ma'am." he said scratching the back of his neck. "Of Course I don't mind and I don't think I ever told you my name, did I?" I asked laughing at myself. "No Ma'am." he said giving me a slight smile. "It's Alexandra but I go by Alex if you don't mind calling me that." I said picking up my water bottle and making my way towards him. "Alex it is." he replied. "We can go outside to practice if you want?" he asked as we made our way out of the training room.

"Sounds good." I replied as we walked outside. "So what would you like to see?" I asked. "What you would like to show me Ma'a-, Alex." he said. I chuckled and then started to lift myself up. I looked over at the water fountain and took some water from it and brought it to me. I made the form of a heart and looked at him. He was in awe, he looked really cute. Wait what......anyways.

I then turned the heart into ice and slowly brought it down. I got some more water and made a stand for it freezing the water and then placing the heart on it. I actually thought it looked cute. I took some more water and then brought it over to me and made it evaporate.

Touching ground I looked over at him and his draw was dropped. I smiled at his face. "Wow, that-that was amazing Alex." he said standing up and walking over to me. I smiled "thanks, I just don't know where I got the powers from." I said my smile dropping.

"Hey don't be sad about it, we can get cleaned up and then go do some research?" he asked looking at me. I looked into his eyes and saw a sparkle. I smiled and nodded. "Meet me at the lab in 40 minutes?" he asked as we walked out. "Okay see you then." I said as we made our separate ways.
