Nicks POV:
3 months later....
"Et maintenant, nous vous présentons l'Angleterre et la star du rugby préférée de toute l'Europe, Nicholas Nelson !!"
The crowd goes wild, people screaming 'marry me' in all different languages. I never thought I'd miss it so much.
The only thing I'd change would be if Charlie was here. He got promoted to the vice-president of the company he works for. And I don't know how this is possible but he has even less time.
We had a pretty big baffle a few months ago and we decided that we wanted to focus less on our jobs and more on each other, but I guess we haven't been keeping our promise too well...
I snap back to reality, and it hits me all again once more, the southern France breeze, the crowd screaming, the freshly cut grass. This is like my second home.
"Ah oui, et encore un point pour l'Angleterre ! La France ferait mieux d'accélérer le rythme, haha !"
"Oi! Nelson, remember the play! To Hatchett! To Hatchett mate!" Yells our coach, Michael.
Michael apparently went through some rough shit. He says you can't enjoy rugby much if everybody sees you as a woman. Which is sad, but he's proven himself so much, and he has to be one of my favourite coaches between coach Signh.
"Wh-what!?"
Fuck. I spaced out again.
And just in a second, I fumble the ball and hit the now muddy grass. Hard."Oh oh ! On dirait que le pont de Londres est en train de s'effondrer !"
"Nick! You alright mate!? You're off your game today,"
"Yeah, yeah I'm alright"
Charlie's POV:
One day till Nick's home.
One day till Nick's home.I have it perfectly planned out. I'll wait at the airport, and then he'll walk out, oh and I'll have a bouquet of flowers too! And then we'll go do something like, really teenagery, like get slushies, or fuck in the back of the car.
I am so excited, stressed, but excited.
It's been two months since I've seen him, and I couldn't even go to any of his games cause of work.I've daydreamed about walking up to my boss, quitting my job and making a dramatic exit so many times, but I've never worked up the nerve to actually do it.
I mean, I'm sure me and Nick could get by, money wise. He is a sports star after all.
But there's also something about not having a job that triggers me.
I don't want to be a housewife for a big star, though I'm sure he wouldn't treat me that way. Just.
It just doesn't appeal to me.
I shake off the what seems to be endless thoughts. And retreat back under my covers. Just lying there, longing for my boyfriend.
Nicks POV:
Back at the hotel...
"You sucked mate!" Jokes one of the rugby boys.
"Yeah what happened Nick!? You were all like" He makes an odd noise and flops on the bed.
"Okay, okay but who's sharing beds with who?"
"I want to share with Tommy~" moans Marcus jokingly and he takes a seat on Tommy's lap.
"Get off me you perv!" Exclaims Tommy, making the whole team laugh.
I'm kind of just spacing out.
I never fumble the ball. I'm the captain. What the fuck is wrong with me?
