The plan is finally set. Josh Groban and I are set up on stage. There's no cameras, no microphones, no auto tune. Now is the time for pure talent and technique to shine. I shudder nervously. Josh Groban places a hand on my shoulder. I wish I could forget about the people surely reading about this and pretend it's just me and him. I close my eyes, take a breath, and ready myself.

Music swells as a gift from the All Seeing One, her one last gift to me as I open my mouth and sing.

My voice rings clear and bright as I sing Christine Daae's part from the All I Ask if You duet. I always thought I was more of a Meg, but with the power of plot armor I'm suddenly able to hit high notes I only ever dreamed of hitting.

Josh Groban joins in right on cue, and if I wasn't already in love, this would be the moment where I fell. His dulcet voice rings clear and true, banishing away the darkness of the Opera Ghost as he promises to shelter me from the night. I want to believe him, but I know he's just playing a role. Our voices intertwine like a lover's caress as we hit the final high note together in perfect harmony. We get softer then, my mushroom brown orbs staring into his peanut butter brown ones. We each hold our breath as we wait.

Suddenly, a noise erupts from behind Josh Groban as a hole in the fabric of time and space rips itself open. Josh gives me a sorrowful look.

"Thank you, Éponine Hisoka Nanami. I never could have done this without you." I nod, tears threatening to fall from my hazel eyes.

"I understand, it's time for you to go." I gesture towards the hole in the fabric of time and space. "Go ahead, before the Doctor comes barreling through." We both laugh.

"Christopher Eckleston would be best," Josh Groban agrees. "As long as it's not Matt Smith." We share another chuckle at Steven Moffat's terrible showrunning.

Josh Groban turns to walk through the portal, but he takes one more glance back at me. "You know," he says thoughtfully, "in the Little Mermaid, it wasn't Ariel's voice that broke the spell. It was true love."

I gasp as he kneels in front of me. "Josh Groban!" I exclaim. "Do you really mean it?" He nods, pulling a small box from his pocket and opening it to reveal a beautiful silver engagement ring with a single pearl tastefully in the center.

"What do you say, Nine? Want to explore distant universes and galaxies far far away?" I'm breathless as I nod my ascent. Josh Groban stands and slips the ring onto my finger. "You know, the All Seeing One only controls this universe. Once we jump, there will be no plot armor to protect us."

"I know." I stand on my tiptoes and plant a kiss on his cheek. "Let's get out of here, Josh Groban." I take his hand and we walk through the portal together.

So many universes, so many possibilities stretch out in front of me. I see a world in which I'm hopping freight trains with the coolest blonde lady I've ever met. Another where I'm swimming with a dusty merman named Dut who's debating with me about Monster High dolls. A third where I'm engaged to the Margot Robbie Harley Quinn and we're running from the cops together. But I know that despite all the endless possibilities, the only universe I want is the one where Josh Groban is my husband.
