Minho sighed as he got up from his bed, wiping his eyes.

It has been another long night, hard to sleep and hard to breathe.

It's been a year now. He should be used to it. But he still doesn't.

"You- ... You want to break up ?" Jisung asked, eyes watering almost immediately.

"Jisungie ..."

"No... Wait- I don't understand" He blinked, his heart slowly breaking in half.

"Ji... I can't do this anymore" Minho said, his own tears streaming down his cheeks.

"But- ... You told me you... you said that ..." Jisung cried, unable to say more words.

"I'm so... so sorry" 

He let out a strangled breath.

Every single morning was the same. Every single morning would start with the same memory, the same memory of Jisung's cries, loud and clear. The same memory of his face frowning in a painful scowl.

He sighed once more.

His day was going to start, and he has to go.

No cold showers could make him forget about his pain.

No over-sugary breakfast could stop the sour taste in his mouth.

No ray of sunshine could light up his life like it used to.

"Damn, you look like shit" Chan said as soon as he saw his coworker enter the office.

"You say that to me every morning" Minho narrowed his eyes at the boy.

"There's morning you seem to be half-alive" He shrugged.

"Well, I'm half-dead anyway" Minho responded dryly.

Chan looked at him, empathy filling his mind.

"Still hard ?" He smiled sympathetically

"Yep" Minho responded, shrugging.

Chan looked at him, contemplating for a long time. He sighed, maybe it was time for the younger to know.

"Um... I had a talk with Jeongin" Chan said, and noticed how Minho's head turned violently to him.

"And ??"

"We... Kind of lied to you" He winced

Minho frowned.

"Don't get mad, Jisung begged us to not tell you" Chan responded

"So ... what did you lie about exactly ?" Minho asked, narrowing his eyes.
