Dianxia Birthday

Both of them laying on the bed cuddling in the early morning. While hua cheng was softly caressing xie lian's soft long hair. Xie lian just silently lies their and enjoys the feeling. It feels so natural and good like hua cheng was meant cherish him this way every morning.

Today they woke up earlier than usual but none of them have any intention of getting up.

Just laying there enjoying the moment in silence when suddenly they heard knock on the door of puqi shrine.

"Who could it be? This early in morning?"

"gege just let them be" Even tho hua cheng smiled while saying that. Xie lian could tell he is pissed off.

"Hahah...san lang do you want to lay down here all day?"

"If gege doesn't mind then yess" xie lian couldn't help shaking his head while getting up.

"san lang get up we both have work" just then there was another knock on the door to which hua cheng groaned before getting up and going to check.

"gege just wait I'll be right back"

Xie lian gets up before picking up his own robes and taking off the red outer robe hua cheng had draped on him last night. Wearing his own and walking out of the bedroom to see who is knocking in such early morning.

"gege it's your servants"

"don't you have anything else to do? All you do is stick to his highness" Xie lian heard feng xin annoyed voice followed by mu qing.

"Who the fuck are you calling servants?"

"San lang they're not my servants" Hua cheng just flashed him smile.

"good morning fengxin, mu qing what brings you here today?"

"ask him he dragged me here" mu qing said while rolling his eyes.

"I DRAGGED YOU HERE?? tf you mean dragged you here? Didn't you said you wanted to be his f-f-friend?"

Hearing their argument first thing in the morning isn't something xie lian wants to deal with.

But instead of cursing each other they both turned serious and said "we just bought some gifts for you"

Gifts? For what? Is it something special today? Xie lian was dumbfounded.

"gifts? Why?"

"it's your birthday today your highness. Happy birthday" Feng xin said while handing him 'gift'.

"happy birthday xie lian" mu qing also handed him something.

Yeah it's his birthday today but xie lian doesn't remember. When was the last time he celebrated his birthday?

Maybe when he was 16 or 17?

"oh...thank you but you didn't had to bring gifts"

After wishing him they both left saying they have work.  Xie lian closed the door walking inside with hua cheng.

Xie lian was lost in his thoughts and just remembered that hua cheng was awfully quite throughout the whole talk. Xie lian turned around almost bumping on his chest.

"san lang? What's wrong?" as he asked that he saw little pout on his husband's face making him so cute that xie lian almost wanted to pull his cheeks.

"Gege didn't told me it is his birthday today" oh so his husband is sulking. Cute.

"ah...i also didn't knew it san lang. I apologize"

He said trying to placate his pouting husband.

"how about it gege? Can we celebrate your birthday in paradise manor? I'll prepare everything while you finish your work in your palace."

Xie lian didn't wanted to hua cheng to do all those works. Knowing hua cheng, he will surely spent too much money but xie lian also didn't wanted to ruin his beloved excited mood so he just agreed and told him not to overdo it.

And that's how xie lian finds himself sitting on the table of the main hall in paradise manor with his husband standing in front of him. He was holding white robes.

Not simple robe it was the most elegant and beautiful robe, material was so soft and simple yet it looked so pretty. But that's not what it made it most beautiful in xie lian's eyes, it was the detailed embroidery and patterns of white butterflies on sleeves.

It's not that visible but they shimmers in even slightest light or ray of sunshine. They glow just like his San lang's wraith butterfly. They're xie lian's favourite creatures. Looking at the robe xie lian knew just how expensive it must've been. He didn't knew weather to laugh or cry.

"Gege how is it? You like it?" Hua cheng said showing him the robe.

"it's....beautiful. Thank you San lang." Xie lian answered accepting the gift. Softly kissing his husband while smiling. This must be one of the best birthdays he had in past 800 years, being with his beloved who cares for him and loves him. That's all xie lian wants.

But he didn't knew there was more than one 'gift'. Hua cheng got another pouch it and took out whatever was inside while handing him. Xie lian took it. It was wrapped in red silk cloth. Unwrapping it xie lian couldn't help but gasp looking at the gift.

It was a silver hairpin with flower pattern on the end of it. There was small silver butterfly dangling from it. (idk how to explain it. I hope yall get it😭)

"San lang...this is beautiful."

"I'm glad gege likes it" hua cheng said while hugging him from behind.

"Gege I prepared small banquet" hua cheng said just then many maids came in room all carrying different type of foods, snacks and drinks.

Xie lian was shocked. Gifts wasn't enough? Banquet too? Just how much did this guy spent. Well it's not that much for hua cheng he literally lit three thousand lanterns on mid-autumn banquet.

Xie lian and hua cheng sits there eating, talking. Xie lian enjoyed his time with his husband.

Well I loved hua cheng birthday in of tgcf extra chapters. I thought why not we celebrate xie lian birthday too? Hehehe that's how I got this idea.

Well do tell me how was it😭😭 it was super short tho.
