CHAPTER ONE
| KNUCKLE - SANDWICH |
KIAN YANG
_________________________The young royal slouched in his seat in boredom as he watched his private assistant write down the notes he'll be needing for later homework. Now, of course the boy might not be a real royal but he sure as hell is treated as one. With having a personal assistant by his side almost 24/7 to tend to his duties and with everyone in the school knowing his name, and practically parting ways when he's around.
Everywhere the teen steps, people praise him from head to toe. Literally, some drop to their knees just to kiss the young man's feet. And it's all because of who his parents are. With both mother and father being retired popular idols with the new image of the lawyer and the doctor, the teenager is seen as a royal, not only at his high school but in other areas outside.
"Sir-Yang", a deep, serious voice spoke, snapping the royal out of his thoughts. The young student blinked at the hearing of his surname, turning his attention to his assistant. "Class is over and I've finished your notes for the day", the assistant noted, earning a thankful smile from the other.
"Thank you, Lun, you're the best", said the young royal, standing up from his seat, seeing the classroom cleared of students.
He was so bored that he didn't even notice when the bell rang. No offense to the subject, but foreign language (Chinese) class was honestly a bore to him. He's interested in his own language sure, just not the work that comes along with it.
"Thank you sir, it means a lot coming from you".
The private assistant has been with the teen for as long as Kian can remember. He was practically his friend and assistant.
"Lun, Lun, Lun...", Kian sighed, absentmindedly handing over his backpack over to his assistant to carry. "I've told you many times before that you don't have to be so formal. I consider you a friend of mine!", the young man grinned in attempt to soften up the other, only to have him nod politely.
The boy frowned, having full knowledge of the fact that the assistant will continue to refer himself as merely his servant. He wishes that the assistant would take his words into account as they were true. Kian in fact does see Lun as his friend - only friend. Consequently, being seen as a royal comes with envy instead of companionship.
The two made their way out of the classroom, stepping out into the open crowd. Like said before, everyone spotted the royal and parted way like the red seas without hesitation. The young royal being used to the action, rose his head proudly, liking the feeling of not having to push and shove his way through the hall to get to his destination.
He continued down the hallway, having each footstep contain so much power. The power he knew he held and was proud of - on most occasions. Kian is proud of the power known to him but there are times where he isn't; fortunately, right now wasn't one of those times.
The royal and the servant passed by students down the hall that stared at the younger with envy and glory. The looks surely did not go unnoticed as the two men made their way down the hall to the lunchroom.
When entering the cafeteria, a long line could be seen all the way across the area, exiting the dining room. This would've disappointed any other starving student, except for Kian Yang. The boy who had the privilege to leave behind the impatience and skip the entire line to have his food served to him first.
He disregarded the glares and scowls heard from the side as he stalked over to the servers. He greeted them with a polite smile and gestured towards Lun what he would enjoy for afternoon lunch.
