CHAPTER THREE
| DISBELIEF
KIAN YANG
_________________________"The school has already informed us, sweetie"
Kian stared unblinkingly at his mother in disbelief. He currently was trying to tell her about his day at school, about the incident that he was wrongly convicted of and here she is already informed on it. The principal was telling the truth, but if his parents knew what happened, why is he being punished?
"Are you sure? Did the school happen to let you know that I had nothing to do with the fight that broke out? That I was the one punched in the face—", Kian pointed at his blue and purple tinted cheek. "For no apparent reason?"
His mother sighed and stepped up to her son to inspect his face, a frown creeping up on her expression.
"I heard you were involved, yes", she said, tilting his head up by his chin to check for more harm on her son's body. "Were you or were you not?"
Kian scoffed with an eye roll and lightly shoved his mother's hands from his face.
"No, I was not!"
The mother quirked a questioning brow at her son.
"Well... on technical terms, sure—"
"Then on that note, I don't see a problem"
Kian's mouth practically hung to his knees in shock. He couldn't believe his mother was okay with this. He wondered if his father was too. There's no reason for them to be okay with this situation. They should be just as angry as him.
"Does dad know about this?"
"Of course. He got the email too", the mother answered and went over to the kitchen to request their personal chef to make dinner.
"This has to be a joke"
"And besides, we think it's a good idea for you to step out of your comfort zone. Camping is good for you to connect with your environment and friends. You should embrace this opportunity"
The young royal stalked over to his mother, who began to inspect the house of any dirt and grime to see if the family servants fulfilled their obligations. She touched and caressed areas of the furniture, nodding in approval at the cleanliness.
"I don't have friends", the young blonde grumbled from behind his mother.
"Camping is a great way to make some", the elder reasoned, disregarding her son's attempts to escape his penalty.
It took convincing on the mother's end of the stick to get her son out of school suspension, which ended with him attending the field trip. She does believe that her son should go on this camping trip regardless. Her son's behavior is beginning to concern her. He doesn't go outside much, unless it's to attend family outings or other events, or to attend his weekly piano lessons.
"You told me to avoid making friends. People can't be trusted"
The mother paused in her tracks, her back facing her son. She has noticed her son's lack of communication skills and companionship. It is her fault along with her husband's for suggesting for the boy to be cautious of others. They have implanted the false narrative of people being out to get them 24/7.
It is partly true, people will use and abuse her son if known who he comes from, and she is overly worried for his safety. She and the father have dealt with their fair shares of insane behavior from so called fans, friends and even family. She just doesn't want her son to have the same experience; however, she's now understanding the damage already done to him instead.
"Yes, but I do think that it's time for you to step out of your shell and embrace the company of others your own age"
"You're fucking with me", the boy scowled, rubbing his throbbing temples.
He doesn't understand where this sudden change came from with his parents. They never minded his lack of companionship before. He's been longing for a friend ever since he was a little boy. He was isolated at an early age and grew to company himself with the disparity of loneliness. He never minded that much growing up, even though his curiosity of someone else to call friend has grown over the past year.
"Language! Cussing isn't gentleman behavior", the mother turned to glare at her son. "Go to your room to get dressed out of those clothes and get ready for dinner", she demanded, waving her hand to dismiss her son.
Kian turned on his heels and followed his mother's orders. He made his way up to his room with the objective given. He stepped inside his bedroom, locking the door behind himself. He sluggishly sat on the edge of his king sized bed, denting the black silk duvet.
His head was throbbing as he was growing a migraine. The turn of events today is too much for him to handle. He refuses to believe that this was actually happening until the morning of Friday comes. Nothing of this issue makes sense. His parents are forcing him to go on the trip because of two senseless assholes.
And what's worse is that he'll have to spend additional time with the simpleminded buffoons. He didn't like either one of them, but does feel more hatred towards the raven-haired jackass. The one who not only caused the whole ordeal in the lunchroom but almost got the both of them in more trouble in the principal's office.
Just by remembering the way the imbecile was dressed down in all black - baggy jeans, a basic t-shirt with apparent holes in it and beat up high tops - not to mention, the visible sleeve of tattoos scattered across both arms that made it down to his knuckles. The raven-haired was definitely the type of person his parents advised him to avoid at all costs. And now they've sent him on a trip with the delinquent.
The thought of the trip is increasing the ache in his temples.
"I need to shower", Kian spoke aloud to no one in particular and stood up from his bed. A shower is the one thing that can calm him down. He feels too worked up about everything and needs an anxiety relief.
He refuses to worry about the issue that awaits him on Friday. He's not attending the trip, he will not be forced to do something he's unwilling to accept. He will have to be forced physically to attend the field trip. And he knows the one thing that could get him out of the whole thing.
Money.
A man's best friend.
